I love Ruby Tuesday's because they have the best salad bar in the area.. and their crab cakes are to die for Skippers because they have an awesome seafood menu.. The fried oysters are always perfect and you really get your money's worth there. Monterreys Mexican has the best Mexican food around.. When cooking at home with my family, steak, baked potatoes, and Kay makes the BEST tossed salad ever. and I can throw together some yummy stuffed mushrooms ..
But then, I don't go out to eat often and ther are many restaurants that i have never tried
Great thread Burns..

Mimi's Cafe for me - absolutely a diet devastator but great comfort food and really nice people there.
Home meals - our holiday standard. Nothing exotic - roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy and creamed spinach. Lemon meringue and chocolate cream pie for dessert.

There was a place I considered my favorite restraunt in Golden, CO when I lived out there. I loooved the relaxing, romantic, French country ambience...The different cheeses, appy's, etc., that was on the table when we were seated, not to mention the food yet to come. It had a warm feeling about it. Fireplaces with stone hearths, French doors, wall to ceiling arched windows and the service was awesome.
What makes my favorite food/meal is the feeling of home. The familiar smells coming from it. It's just good old down home country cooking from my Southern roots...It might also be something from my time growing up in PA Dutch country. Something made from practically nothing, but made to taste good with lots of care and effort taken by the person making it just because they love you and want you to always walk away feeling satisfied, nourished and loved.

My favorite restaurants are where the food is exceptional, the atmosphere cozy and inviting and the staff friendly and personable. We have a little place here in town that we enjoy called Alfred's where the chef salad is so big I can't eat it in one sitting. I rarely find a Mexican place that I can call a favorite because I prefer my own and it's so easy to prepare.
My favorite meals are those I prepare for the people I love! There's is nothing better than being with friends and family and watching them scarf down a meal I have set in front of them.
