Anyone have any recipes for low calorie dessert? I'm really trying to lose weight and I'm doing pretty good so far but I do enjoy chocolate and a good dessert every once and awhile. (Like every day!) Anyway, I have a few of my own I'll post later, but thought I'd ask anyone here since I'm sure others are trying to lose weight as well.

Try fresh fruit dipped in dark chocolate.
I also make a mock chocolate mousse...
Sugar free chocolate pudding made with skim soy milk low fat cool whip instant coffee crystals
Make pudding according to directions, add cool whip to your liking...same with the instant coffee.
Good stuff!!

Thanks, whatagal, I like pudding and usually make my own. It's real easy in the microwave. I didn't think about using soy milk but that's a good idea. Here's a recipe for cookies I got from a cookbook that uses no sugar in its desserts.
Carob Oatmeal Cookies
1/2 cup mashed bananas 1/3 cup melted butter 1/4 tsp. vanilla 2 large eggs 1/4 cup milk 1 1/4 cup flour 1/4 cup carob powder 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1 cup nuts 2/3 cup oats Mix bananas, butter, vanilla, eggs and milk in bowl. Add dry ingredients and nuts and oats last. Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes. (These cookies aren't real sweet and the carob and bananas are the only source of sweetness. If you want you could use cocoa but you'd have to add a low calorie sweetner.)

What about all that butter? Doesn't make too much sense to me to forgo the sugar if you are adding fat to the mix.

It's almost impossible to make baked goods without butter or oil. I tried Dr. Ornish's recipe for Banana Bread and it had no butter in it. It tasted like rubber. It was awful. Most recipes for cookies call for a cup or more of butter so 1/3 cup is not too bad.
