Two of my most favorite are :
1. Old Fashioned Bean Soup...like grandma use to make (with hand made noodles) 2. Breaded pork cutlets with mash potatoes ( butter, dry parsley flakes & bacon bits ) and red cabbage sauerkraut & good german beer. Dessert : Banana Cake ( all sorts )

Depends on the season...right now Mike's list would work for me, except it would be my own old fashioned bean soup...no noodles, but it takes 3 days to make it right...smoked pig's feet, chicken and about 14 kinds of beans. Give me a loaf of sourdough bread and I'm in hog heaven.Dessert would be potica (similar to babka but more butter!).
All this Thanksgiving talk is making me crave turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy (preferably with sour cream in the potatoes), cranberry jelly, the kind right out of a can like mom used to make, spinach, stuffing, sweet pertaters and to end it, pumpkin, chocolate cream and lemon meringue pies. OK, not all at once...but that's pretty much what was available and we definitely savored the leftovers...
