The double standards of some bisexual women

In talking to some bisexual women, their mores seem to get bogged down in some rather bizarre (at least to me anyway) double standards. Some feel that if they have a boyfriend or husband and play with a female on the side they aren't cheating. They feel it to be cheating only if they're with a man. Then others will say that their affairs with women are just for sex pleasure and that their affairs with men are for love. What's funny is that these same women will also complain about a man who pursues women just for pure sexual pleasure. That is, to them, it's OK for a bi woman to pursue another woman purely for sex, but not OK for a guy to do the same thing.Kind of like it's OK for an African American to use the "N" word on another African American, but somehow taboo if a white person does it.

Disclaimer:I realize this in no way describes all bisexual women and this is NOT meant to be a generalization of any kind.Just an observation.

Double standards of any kind have always perplexed me.

Hmmm...well, while I definitely disagree with it, it sounds like the oft-used B.S. excuse that a lot of men use about "it was no big deal," when speaking of having affairs. Or "it was ONLY sex; it didn't MEAN anything." Yeah, yeah, yeah. Whatever.

Oh, yeah, that solves the problem. How does it make it (the act of cheating) any more "right" being aware of it? Granted, honesty is better than dishonesty...and for you and your GF it may be "perfectly okay," but for many (most?) people, it's not just a simple matter of "Hey, so long as we both know about it, go ahead and screw whomever you want at your leisure!"

What's the POINT of having a "commitment" (and I use the term loosely because, if you do that, you don't have a full commitment to one another, anyway) if you're going to screw around indiscriminately?

Basically what you've got is the convenience of having your cake and eating it too. How nice. All the fun without any of the accountability.

And that's a bad thing because????.........Having cake and eating it too has got to be one of the most ridiculous sayings ever uttered. What the hell else do you do with cake?

"A dramatist named John Heywood was the first to use it, at least in the written form. The expression appears in his "A dialogue Conteinyng the Nomber in Effect of All the Prouerbes in the Englishe Tongue," a page-turner from the year 1546. (Please note the fancy Middle English spelling.) Originally, the saying went, "Wolde you bothe eate your cake, and haue your cake?"

Before you answer that question by chowing down, let us explain what Mr. Heywood meant. Basically, he was saying sometimes you have to make a decision and live with the consequences. To "eat your cake and have it too" (the original expression) means you want it both ways. If you eat your cake, you no longer have your cake, because (duh) you already ate it. Hope it tasted good."

King, I'm curious..what if your girlfriend wanted to see you have anal sex with another man? Would you do it? Say, for argument's sake, your girlfriend isn't a professed bisexual, but decided to be with a woman for you because that's what you wanted?

jean,
No I wouldnt do that becuase I am not bi sexual or homosexual. My gf IS bi sexual she was before I ever met her. In fact I have not encouraged her to seek out women but she likes to do it anyway.

So as long as she plays with the women while I am there its all good IMO..I dont alwasy actively participate either...Sometimes I just enjoy the view.

I also have a "thing" about using terms like "play" and "fun" when speaking of having sex. Not that it's not at times "playful" or "fun," I suppose, but....

I dunno..I just don't look at sex as something to do in order to entertain myself...

It's just so much more intense than that. For me, having "fun" would be, like, going to an amusement park and riding the roller coaster.

It's different with sex. When I have sex with someone, and the "ride" comes to an end, do I giggle like a little school girl and say, "Wheeeeeeeeee!!! Let's do that again?"

Ummm...nevermind. Forget I asked that. Carry on.

Cheating is cheating.
Whatever your sexuality.
If it is a totally mutual thing, that's different. I don't see it, because I'm not that way.
Different strokes.

LOL Jean..You dont see WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE?

well for me that is "play" its not serious, not enlightening, not spiritual, its just fun and feels good.
When its over its over. We all remain friends and sometimes we hook up again sometimes not.

BUT communication is the key we never do anything that the other doesnt want to do!
Believe it or not there ARE rules we abide by so it IS possible to cheat. But we do not see cheating the way you see it.

I see what you're saying, but, even the most casual of sexual encounters I've ever had, even with the endorphine-induced laughter that goes along with it, for some reason, I've just never equated the word "fun" with sexual intercourse. And i don't mean there was any intense emotions involved, either, necessarily ...it's just "fun" just doesn't quite do it justice. Make sense?
