On average how long do you tend to stay in a relationship...it doesnt matter how or why just the timeframe. For me 2 years (1st gf) 4 years (1st live in situation) 11 years (got married) 10 if you count the one full year we were apart. 9 months (current GF) I am 36 next month and almost 18 years of my life has been with one partner..and I only started "having " partners at about 16.
Curious what about you folks???

Er, about six months for me.
I generally get bored of people easily.
Not intentionally, of course.

My marriage 11 yrs.....
last relationship --- we lived together for a year, I moved out to find myself. One month later we are back together.
So, the month split really helped us to figure out what we really wanted.

Zula only 2 "relationships"? Creativity..well that is not surprising you are very young still and I would expect several long term relationships at this stage yet.

4-5(?) years high school boyfriend
32+ years ex-husband
6 months, possible 'keeper' til I learned about alcoholics
Then 1 year, but it would have been forever ...except he died
I don't make commitments unless I mean it...

No louis---- more than 2 relationships Just 2 that really mattered to me.
1st marriage was for 3 years.
Several (non-meaning) relationships and no need in talking about them.

One Relationship, and Marriage .... 41 Years .... And it renewed itself, over, and over, because we all change over time, and the relationship has to change along with us.

I don't take commitment lightly; I've been in three such relationships in my entire life and, soon as I found out they took commitment as "joke," basically, then I broke up with them. My longest relationship was my marriage, at 5.5 years, and then another one lasted for three years, one for appx. 2 years.
I don't condone cheating in any form or fashion. If you make a commitment, make a vow to a person, you should honor that commitment, that vow, IMO. If you want to be single, then be single. If you want to screw around, then screw around. But you're not gonna have me and do both, is what I tell 'em. I don't like being single, sometimes, but I won't compromise my dignity or my values for anyone, so that's why none of my relationships have lasted longer than they have.

I suppose you're right, but I'm not fond of these 6 month relationships anymore. That doesn't mean I'm ready for serious commitment, but it does mean that I'm done playing a game.

I work in 7 year intervals. Married 7 years, lived with a girl, 7 years, married again 14 years. Single now - 6 years, so I'd better get moving on this dating stuff.

LOL pete doing better than most.... I posted several unrelated articles on here today..most notably the decline in female sex drive after about 4 years of marriage...With a few exceptions I see many of the relationships "around" the 4 year mark or less.... Coinsedense?
(serious question)

Mmmmm...maybe it took about 25 years for some of us (though it wasn't me, originally )
Dang, I don't have another 25 years to test my theory

(serious question) I've never had a decline in sex drive, as I stated in your other thread. I have had a decline in sex drive with regard to sleeping with a man who has cheated on me or otherwise mistread me, yes. The amount of time passing has little to do with it, I think.
I could easily EASILY "keep the fires burning" for the same man for an eternity, so long as he treated me with love, dignity and respect. Soon as he even suggested entertaining the thought of bringing another party into our sex life, his ass would be out the door.
No, no c-o-i-n-c-i-d-e-n-c-e whatsoever.
