Difine "dominate"...there are different levels to this word. Do you consider agressive as dominate? Do you consider being tied up by a woman as dominate? Do you consider vinyl, leather, whips and chains as dominate? I suppose with most women it is a matter of mood, needs, and who your partner is. I have a "friend" who loves it when I take charge of matters...but do I consider myself dominate? No, I just have my agressive moments. It is all subjective.

First of all..ynot - calm down. Don't make me restrain you! 
Now, in all seriousness, icequeen241 poses good questions, as there are varying ideas of what dominant is (or should be) as well as varying degrees of that lifestyle. Is an aggressive lover a Dom/Domme? Well, if taking the initiative makes one a Domme, then I'd be one. If it means cuffing someone the bed and commiting wicked acts of debaurchery means I'm a Domme, then I'm not...thought the thought is rather appealing *sly wink*.
I don't happen to think that aggressive is the same as dominant...and I've recently come to understand that being submissive doesn't mean having no control. Being dominant is not the same as being bossy; a Dom friend of mine did a very good job of explaning this in a blog on the adult site. I'd say it's a good idea to read up and think things through before embarking on anything - there are good Doms/Dommes and bad ones...

Men are in a bit of a, you should pardon the term, bind about this. We're conditioned that we should be dominant in everything, but sex most of all. Whether because of that, general conditioning regarding power, or something more instinctive, fantasies of submissive women doing whatever we say are prominent. But many -- if not most -- of us want a woman who is at least aggressive in sex.
Especially as some women seem to think being submissive involves having no motivation of their own; it's not just lonely at the top, it's tiring. ("Dammit, show some initiative! That's an order!") I'm reminded of Margaret Cho's line, "I don't know if I'm a bottom because it turns me on, or if I'm a bottom because I'm lazy." Men need a break from playing Alpha sometimes.
