It was a line.
They tell us what we want to hear.

hmmm...I don't think so. Women don't want to hear that an hour after meeting someone. They just think the person is nuts.

In this case, I think the guy was nuts. Stay away from him.

I agree... I have had a couple of people tell me that after a coversation on the phone or two. Either they want something, are wacky, or their sense of love is outta whack. They may be insecure, or just wanting to find love so badly they assume that what is probably just lust, is infact love.

Yep, if a guy says it after one hour, then he's either drunk or wants into your pants.

sounds to me like a classic case of:

He's telling you what he thinks you want to hear.

You should have said:
I LOVE ME TOO. lol.......... then run... he sounds like a retard to use such a cheesy line

I think it's a line also. Or you're just THAT good of a person!

(psst-Tat-others here have been busted for using the word retard in the manner you used it. And some of us are plain offended by it...just so you know)

Perhaps he didn't love you so much as he loved the type of person you are/were.

Or he thought you were a sucker for those 3 little words.

Many guys know that most women attach an emotional aspect to sex but they don't know why (As a matter of fact, I don't know why either).
Since they prefer to be discreet, and have a little compassion they try to associate some kind of positive emotional attribute to their ultimate intent. They think that is what you want to hear, so that is what they tell you.
I guess that love (stereotypically) is an emotion that women are most associated with...... at least that is what they train/ brainwash us with on T.V. and in the movies.
Men/ boys figure if that they can win your heart (a game) then they can win your sex.

Well there you go...... there it is in a nut shell.

Well hell, it was obviously true love, and now you've destroyed the poor ol' fella. You've probably given him an achey breaky heart for the rest of his life. As you gloat over ruining his dream of a perfect life with you. Was his name Earl?

LOL...should have told him to take you home, and to give you a call when he was absolutely SURE he loved you!

I'm not buyin' it. To answer your question, I've NEVER told anyone this unless I was 110% sure of it. I like to wait for some time AFTER I start feeling like I love someone before ever letting them know how I feel - just so I can be sure about it myself first!

Sounds like that would have been one scary guy you were with.....

run. run fast...and wen you think it is safe...and that scary guy is gone...run some more. not only does it take a while to get the love feeling...but love to me isn't hey i love you. love to me...is him doing dishes when i am too tired...him bringing home my favorite cake....the kind he hates. love isn't saying i love you...it is an active effort. on both sides...let me be specific. i don't want a man who tells me he loves me...i want a man who shows he loves me (and of course my son).
