Why do men insist on writing dribble like

Do they think this shit will really ilicit a response from a woman? And why if they're like 43 would they ever have any sort of sexual thoughts about someone as young as nineteen?!?!?!

It's their personality type. He or she has that mentality. LGQ there is NO common denominator of people that are in age groups. Stereo-typing bahavior of people by their chronological age is misleading because every single person experiences life a little different than the next one, even if they grow up in the same household.
It's all about interpretation and reaction, so you shouldn't expect a person of a particular age to act a particular way.
IMO, There are some really lame and juvenile minded 60 year olds, but by the same token very mature elementary school children. interpretation and reaction. (I'm a hypocrite too when it comes to this, but I won't go into details).
Whether people agree or disagree with that, it's only because they are like minded thinking individuals (collective thinkers) who also happen to agree with one's perceptions about a particular active issue which they can personally relate to, but they may not necessarily agree with you on the next issue.
The person that sent you those e-mails is testing your boundaries and wants to see how you'll react..... to see if you are "like-minded". They might also be just harassing you. Take it as you will, but don't assume that a person's age should dictate a standard for a behavioral pattern. I'm sure you will find this out in the years to come.

I wasn't assuming anything about a particular age group, I was wondering...because I do get a lot of mail from men who are ages 36-58....why someone that old would show any sexual interest in someone my age.

LGQ, If that is the case, then it might be that they perceive something about women of their own age group (or any given age group for that matter) to be repulsive but your age group to be stimulating.

LGQ, they do this because they are doubting their own masculinity. They cannot deal with getting OLD! A male friend of mine has admitted to this. Not that he is a perv! Men have very fragile egos. The "tough guys" are the worst. Very insecure.

I sent someone a "Pervy" email one time. She is now on my friends list! 
We would have never talked to each other if I had not sent it. It's ironic, but hey it did work.
