Why would anyone want to? What is the point in getting into a relationship where there is never going to be sex unless you are both members of some weird cult that does not believe in sex? I understand women wanting to be loved for more than just their bodies and all that, but sooner or later sex is going to be involved or you are just plain weird. As for you guys who say that you would do that, ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Tell me another one.

Just so you men can understand...there are a lot of women who enjoy dating...we really like the guy, but don't really want to sleep with you right away.
Is that called "just friends" if you care deeply? Since when does it mean that if you don't have sex it's just friends? Can't you date and not have sex?
I'm sorry...didn't realize it was a rule that to be considered dating, you have to have sex

Until you've had sex, its just friends.
Which leaves you free to keep looking for someone else.

Well, I grew up with the idea that I could date without having sex.
I never realized that to have a man as my "boyfriend or SO" I had to have sex with him. I guess that is the new rule?

Well, not for me.
Just cause I date someone doesn't mean that I'm going to sleep with them. Sorry,...no matter how old I am...I don't think that I need to sleep with everyone I date. And I don't think that because I don't sleep with them it's not considered dating.

More to the point, is sexless dating something that you would be willing to partake in?
I do not mean, would you go on a date or two with someone, where no sex was involved.
My question is directed to the willingness for participation in an ongoing dating relationship, that does not include sex.
the expectation would be for a healthy sexual relationship...with all the committed aspects involved..
but to just date a "friend"...only warrants a "friendship" commitment....
just one old man's opinion...

Even though I'm going to get hammered for it, I'm going to say it.
I have met women in the past, that I thought were perfect in every way.
After a certain amount of time had passed, we had sex.
Only to find out, this isn't going to work.
It would offend some to state why here.
So my point is, why string it out?
It just stops you from finding the right one.
This approach is right for me, not all people.
Is it just about a good sexual fit?
Nope, that's just part of it, but I want firm foundations.

Yep, and I would see no point in dating someone at all if it were clear that there was never going to be sex. I mean, what kind of a romantic future do you have without sex? Friends are different. Friends are just people you hang out with. If I am doing something with a friend I do not call it a date.
