WHAT IS SEX ADDICTION?
And why is it on the rise? Here’s what you need to know to recognize the disorder - and the right and wrong ways to cope.
Sex addiction is the use of sexual behavior in a compulsive and self-destructive way. An addict is rarely satisfied and is usually emotionally absent during a sex act” , says Douglass Weiss , PhD, who runs Heart to Heart , a treatment center for sex addicts in Colorado Springs.
“Sexual compulsivity can involve masturbation , viewing pornography, voyeurism, having affairs, seeing prostitutes , or visiting strip clubs. Addicts often need more acts or new partners to get the same high , and many risk relationships and jobs
( say, by looking at porn at work ). Signs of addiction include short temper , secrecy, lying, or disinterest in sex with their partner.
Experts estimate that up to 5 percent of Americans meet the criteria for sex addiction, 80 percent of whom are male. And sex addiction is on the rise , especially among men , because of the explosion of Internet porn.
A woman should not try to appease an addict by , for instance , losing weight , getting breast implants or participating in sex acts that violate her values. She should realize that her partner’s problem has nothing to do with her appearance or behavior.
The website cosarecovery.org ; sanon.org ; and sexaddictionhelp.com offer help for those affected by partner’s sex addiction. And the Society for Advancement of Sexual Health
( sash.net ) can refer you to a therapist who has been trained to treat the problem.”

I think the whole idear bout sexual addiction is silly.
The cravin of sex is jest a natural body function. Like eatin, sleepin, breathin or goin to tha bathroom. It's absolutely normal and natural ta be "addicted" to sex.
There's folks that, fer what ever reasons, has lost interest in sex. That's cool. They don't gotta play if they don't wanna. It sounds silly, though, for them to wrinkle up their ole snout and say "oooh, they still like it, they are an addict"
Jest cause somebody feels like sittin out, thye ought not be raggin on the floks that still got a token on the gameboard.
Go and put me on the "addict" list

It didn't indicate what men should do per female sex addicts. I therefore suggest men simply help the women out that are addicted to sex by being available and ready to serve and satisfy.

Good point, newlife 
Hopefully , from now on there will be less man-bashing on this site . I'm getting really weary of female members accusing ALL men of being potentially cheating, lying ,promiscuous ,abusive jerks. Though percentage of this particular kind of behavioral disorder is , no doubt, higher than 5% on the Internet , still generalizations hardly apply . There's enough people with healthy sexuality out there to keep humanity from degradation. If someone runs into sex-addict , it only means that he/she should move on to healthy one instead of bitching about "how bad all men/women are" . ( obviously, if two sex-addicts find each other , we all will be happy for them )
Like the old jokes goes : " It's 95% of lawyers that give the rest of them bad name"

That's exactly the point, Sun, not all American population is on dating sites , but without doubt ALL those 5 sick % of whole population are there...unfortunately. So I guess it would be useful to be aware of the fact , watch out for them...and know that those perverts are NOT representing the whole male gender.

Where did you see stats that show that those 5% of AMERICANS (4% American men) are ALL on the internet?  
Look at the entire criteria for the definition of "sex addict"...MOST of that has NOTHING to do with internet anything.
