I wonder if a guy means it when he says he doesn't mind waiting for sex.

More than likely, if he said it, he meant it.
If he didn't mean it, you'll find out soon enough....you can then go from there. Personally, if I find out a guy told me something that wasn't particularly true, I take it that he's trying to impress me or saying what he thinks I want to hear......either way, I feel he's not confident enough in himself to give me an honest answer, so any chance of the relationship going further is nil.

If I was told that I had to wait by someone I was dating...I would not think anything of it.. but there would be many questions going through my mind..and in the process of getting to know her.. I would be asking for clarifications..
and as more information came out .. I would then be able to determine if I minded or not...and even if I meant it when I said it..I might change my mind..

Touch
Sometimes they probably do and sometimes they probably don't. That's a very tough call to make.

it depends on these 2 things: how long you have gone without it. how attracted you are to them. The second could be used just as well as a reason to wait, since you w likely care more about them to respect their wishes.

When you start dating someone, and they tell you that you have to wait to have sex (even though you are obviously sexually attracted to one another), it usually means that they are still having sex with someone else. They want to keep on having sex with the other person while not having to feel guilty about it.
If they ever reach the point where the gamble of changing sex partners will be worth it, they will give it a shot.

kinda gonna tag onto LJs post... I know of a few women who make the guys wait sometimes a few months longer than they would at other times.. only because they are waiting on their period so they don't end up on Maurys show *who's my baby's daddy?*

Personally, I know some people that use sex to control others. They are not nice people.

Interesting Eyes...my ex was always saying what he thought I wanted to hear. I now know when he is LYING. He gets this smarmy sounding voice. It is called appeasing. To me, it is lying. No more liars. Total waste of time.

Some guys will mean it, others will lie. If he is honest believe him. If he lies, then he may or may not be telling the truth on this matter. Also, keep in mind, when a guy says, he doesn't mind waiting for sex, his definition of what a reasonable amount of time to wait is, may be quite different from yours. So, even if he is telling you the truth as he sees it, don't assume that his time frame to patiently wait is the same as yours. It could be much shorter, or much longer for that matter.

I know that I prefer to be comfortable and really know (and trust) the person before I have sex -- there are actually some guys who understand and respect that concept ~grin~
