If you found out that your bf/man you are dating had sexual relations in the past with a prostitute (maybe twice or so) how would you feel? You didn't find out about this from another source, mind you. It came up in conversation and he admitted to having paid for sex in his younger years in his 20's.
I know you can mention that you would not have a say in it because it happened before you met him. But, how would you feel inside? Would you be able to have sex with him again? Would you be able to get that out of your mind?

For the record - I've never used a prostitue - could've - but really wasn't intrigued by the idea.
That said, how old is he now? I know you said 20 something - big difference beween & 20 & 29. At 39, I don't think it's relative to judge me by things I didn't in my 20's. At 30 years old, 20 really shouldn't count against someone.
At 30, 29 does count. 29 at 39 - not so much.
Did any of that make sense.?

Though to be quite honest, I don't know how highly I'd think of someone that had been with a prostitute....I know people are going to jump down my throat, and go ahead, but it's just me.

Obviously you don't understand my sense of humour, but I understand that as I can't properly convey it through the typed word. It's much like Seinfeld's sense of humour, it relies heavily upon verbal expression more than what is actually being said. I was playing upon the notion that a woman would be a "slut" but people would look past a man's sexuality. Anyway, I don't believe in the term "slut". So yes, I was being sardonic. Besides- one person's "offensive" is another person's "absolutely hilarious".

Depends on how long ago, how many times, circumstances....a lot would go into answering the question.
I've never used a prostitute or know of anyone that had, so don't have any experience to go on, but I would think someone that used them many times in the past would show a pattern of behavior that would call attention to his/her morality and judgment. It's up to the partner on whether they think the person's fit enough to enter a relationship with.

Whats in someones past is their past......who they are today is all that should matter. If some would look closer to their own past, maybe they would be more forgiving and also realize our past is what shapes how we are today...

I do not know the exact age at the time....it was when he was younger in his 20's...he is now in his late 30's.
It would have definitly done good if it was never brought up. Whats in the past is in the past. We are all human and make mistakes.....I am just curious as to how you would react. Hurt? Unable to have sex with him (at least for a while) until the initial shock wears off? Would you tell him that before you engage in future sexual activity he would have to get an HIV and STD tests done? Would you tell him that you also need to get tested and he should cover that expense as well?

People in their early 20's do all sorts of things. You are talking almost 15 years ago. I think it would be a little harsh to hold that against him. He talked about it with you which means he is not hiding it. I don't think it should bother you

Can't be hurt by something that happened years before you met. I mean that's just taking over sensitive to a felony degree.
Health testing, that's up to you - your personal choice. To be absolutely sure then yes, the two of you should be tested. That said, if it's been 10 years & he aint dead, & nothin's fallin off the man - odds are you are safe.
(I know, not every std is fatal - ie herpes)
Just sayin is all..................
