I think that's how prostitution got its start. Some prehistoric dude was looking for a casual lay and hooked up with the local cave-babe.
After the deed was done, she started the yak yak yak stuff. To get her to STFU and go home, he gave her some wampum.
Enterprising and crafty early hominid that she was, she realized she could extract a lot of wampum from the local horndogs, just by sticking around afterwards and annoying the living sh!t out them.

Interesting theories. Well, in answer to Thor whose thread it was originally, some people do not involve their emotional selves in the sex. If it is paid sex, maybe no. Some emotions are involved in other sexual liasions by at least one of the people. I am not saying it is GOOD emotions. Depends entirely on the situations.
Your theory seems right on SG. So, really, maybe the call girl WILL be someone's best bet. Again, depending on the situation.
What I would love to see more of is allowing sexuality without all the detrimental emotions involved. I know it IS done. I have seen it and heard of it from many people. So many people tho have all these hangups that cause the relationship to go away because they infiltrate the relationship with so many immature emotions that tarnish the brilliance of the sexual joys.
Almost puts you off sex. Well, sometimes it DOES put some of us off sex. Ewwww.

 Yes,I agree.That's where I think the casual sex scene,like we enjoyed in the 70's and 80's,would be cool today,but these days everyone is so paranoid and on edge like they're all looking and expecting to be hurt so they set themselves up for failure.
Both sexes are guilty in my opinion.
I mean,really,if you do away with casual sex, then the only options that leaves for folks are monogamy and celibacy.There's so much more to life than those two options in my opinion,but mention that on a dating forum and you're likely to get flamed and told how shallow you are for thinking that way.

Well, the days of casual sex started dying when Herpes raised it's ugly head. Then along came AIDS and the death knell tolled. Lot of people ended with wonderful lasting relationships during those days of casual sex encounters. There was little to no pressure then.
Now all the emotional furor of abstinance and fear of disease and pregnancy colors many people's lives. Sexual pressure really does cause lots of problems. I have to admit being very cranky when horny. I do stupider stuff (is that a word?) when I am cranky. I tend to piss people off more than my usual. I hurt more feelings. Just downright act poorly.

This is usually easy to do for many men but many women cannot successfully get LAID AND have an orgasm. Hence the emotional crap that shows up. The women often have to really get to know the men better and the men have to get to know the women better. The women often get turned off to the men after getting to know them better then end the relationship.
In the other case, the women often get to know the men better and really start to enjoy the considerate ones so much they want to hang onto them. Especially when the sex is awesome! That is often when the men realize it is getting deeper than they want and they run off.
I have had cases where the men got really INconsiderate and then I blew off the relationship. I am NOT going to wait around when someone tells me he will call or come by and it does not happen. Two or three times and it is over. I mean, my time is valuable to me, even if it is NOT to someone else. Just say no, f'God's sake. Don't lead the woman on. Kiss of death to ANY relationship...not valuing the woman or at least TREATING her as if she is.

Considering you stated that you are married , celibacy is hardly an option in your case.
Besides, there's no decent alternative to monogamy - those would be either polygamy or adultery  , so you'd better stick to inflatable dolls, brother - otherwise be prepared to face legal consequences sooner or later
