How much is virtual, vicarious sex (porn) like real sex? I was wondering because the guy I'm seeing though I wouldn't say addicted watches it lot and I was wondering if I should care- feel jealous like he's cheating on me namely. I don't know cause I don't watch porn for one thing. Anyone?

Pah! Don't sweat it. Think of it like a cook book. Doesn't it seem all the more appealing when there are pictures?  
No matter what a man tells you, the majority of them enjoy a bit of porn from time to time. No biggy. As long as he doesn't "need" it when he's with you...that's all that matters.

Porn isn't like real sex. To me it's either an assist to masturbation, or a diversion for Mrs. Bacon and I when we are wanting something a little different. But as far as it being a substitute for actual sex...nah. Most porn that I've seen isn't very realistic either...I hardly see ANY of them wearing pig snouts!

What amazes me is the tons of baggage that the holier than thous have attached to porn. During his administration Richard Nixon authorized his house science panel to do a study on porn because he wanted to establish a link between porn and violent sex crimes. When the members of this panel did an exhaustive study and reported that they found no link, Nixon chose to ignore their findings and act as if the study had never happened. If a child molester or a rapist is found to have a large quantity of porn, people point their fingers and say "See, that is what that stuff makes you do." Their mistake is in assuming that it is a cause and effect relationship. It is not. Many millions of people who would never dream of molesting a child or raping anyone enjoy porn.

As long as he doesn't "need" it when he's with you...that's all that matters if it bothered her (or him) enough to ask the SO to stop watching porn when alone.. and the SO would not or could not..would the SO's refusal ... matter in the relationship?

Sheesh Gallows. That just makes arguments where there is none. Some insicure women may need to pick fights and only want a man to stare at them unblinking, but I think most women know how to pick their battles.
If it's not affecting your relationship or sex life in any way...who the hell cares? If it is not changing your sex life and your getting enough from the man, it would ultimately be a battle for control and nothing more.
Shit. I've got better things to do than that to be honest. That would be right up there with being upset if the man wasn't thinking of YOU every time he masturbated. And YES....people DO still masturbate in commited relationships.
It's fun for cripes sake.
