I contacted this guy who is close in distance to my work zip. His first response back was for my phone number and address. I don't think I am too cautious, but would it not be stupid on my part to give it o him? His profile has little in it and he wanted my address!!! Would you have given it?

I wouldn't give my address, but as long as I was interested in talking I would have nothing against giving my cell number. I mean, what is someone going to do? Say bad things to me? These days they are instantly traced and face a big fine for crank calls.

Recently I had a similar experience. First email response he asks for my number. Sorry, I think you have to be very careful. I reported mine to the site. It was not appreciated and not real appropriate. You did the right thing.

You shouldn't give anyone your phone number or address.
I had a scary thing happen last year where a man who lived in the same town with me emailed me about 25 times saying let's meet, let's meet...I blocked him finally it was scaring the bejeeber's out of me.
...If you talk to a person for longer than a week or 2, have seen them on webcam and talk on the phone with them...Then and only then would I meet them somewhere. And not at your home. GO to a busy coffee shop, restaurant or something and make sure everyone knows where you are going.
Be careful. You never know who is insane on the internet. Trust me. And listen to what everyone else say's. If someone is interested they will be fine with waiting for your phone number or until you feel safe enough with them to meet...In a PUBLIC PLACE!!!
