How many people actually believe in this?Do you really judge a person's character by their sexuality and if so why?Why is a woman who has had alot of sex partners or has sex on the first date or whatever "inferior" to one who doesn't?And men,are they more manly if they "score" easily? If so why,if not why not?Is there really such a thing as a "stud" or a "slut"?Why or why not?

I think is has more to do how she/he carries himself...
You can get around all you want but still be classy...no reason to act the part...
Now Back to Madonna.. I can't flick the channel fast enough when her in the Dance Studio Video comes on..

This has nothing to do with the singer.I ran across this confusion the last time I posted in a forum with this title. It has to do with the belief some men have that there are two types of women. The "madonna" type, the one you want to marry and raise your kidsd (non sexual) and the "whore"the one you do the nasty with.I manitain they CAN be the same woman and that the madonna/whore complex is a falsehood.

It's not who she is that is the problem.. it's how she acts..
And that pertains to other women also.. Be Classy..! that is the reason for the difference between Whore/prostitute and a Call Girl....Class
And for your info....We want both..Classy in public...and Naughty in the bedroom :D

The Madonna/Whore Complex or Whore/Madonna complex since sex before marriage is fine but sex after marriage defiles the perfect wife.It severely interferes with the quality of sex after the marriage. He loves her but he doesn't want to be intimate with her. She loves him but she is increasingly bitter because he won't give her the intimacy she craves. Infidelity may be a cornerstone of their marriage, as he seeks sex with acceptable 'whores' .And she may in turn seeks love somewhere else to get the sexual intimacy shes not getting at home.
Its not a falsehood if the husband doesn`t fulfill the needs of his wife or if he sees her as a Madonna both in and out of bed.He compares her to his mother and to his way of thinking its *dirty*like having sex with his own Mother..however if he were to change his way of thinking then yes a woman can be both a madonna and a whore at home..

It's not a falsehood in that it DOES exist.I feel it to be based on fasle premises because I personally feel that an individual's sexuality does NOT define their character.
It's a pretty fukked up way to think in my opinion.

I'm not really sure what you're asking,Tink.I'm not sure what your experts are saying, but what I'M saying is that I don't use the Madonna/whore complex as a barometer for whether or not I think a woman is suitable for a long term relationship. The same woman I'm in love with will be the same woman I'm sexually attracted to.The same woman that gets me hot CAN raise my kids.
I know the complex exists in many men, particularly in certain ethnic cultures,Hispanic men for example.I just don't suffer from it.Hence that is why I feel it's a false perception.I feel men who suffer this are living a delusion.
I don't judge people by how many sex partners they've had in their lives.I feel that terms like "slut" or "stud" are meaningless terms based on false perceptions.

Well why didnt you say that in the first place...I mean you didnt come right out and say that was YOUR opinion..putting it the way you just did makes it easier to understand where your coming from..

I love Madonna and her music. Always have. I think she just keeps getting better with each passing year.
As far as the whole Madonna/Whore Complex is concerned, it does seem to really happen to some men from what I have read.

You've got it all wrong, brother...:)
The complex has nothing to do with popular songstress -
Madona stands for non-sexual type of female ( sort of virgin Mother) and this complex is nothing but rudiment of "dark age" precluding birth control invention . Actually, this kind of marital behaviour was back then the only way of controlling family size. Since males' sexual activities inevitably resulted in conception, poor guy had no choice but marry frigid woman and have sex with her only for procreation - and indulge himself in sex outside marriage only so not to be financially responsible for all his numerous offsprings...

DNA in these days does require that a man support his offspring even outside of marriage. Federal and State law prevails and this is the 21st Century and not the Dark Ages..

Thor... the madonna/whore complex ....I think this refers to some men who have a serious mental problem concerning how they view the women they marry......They are unable to see their wife or the mother of their children in a sexual intimate robust relationship....JMO......I believe Elvis had this problem
Maybe what your asking is the lady/slut difference some men make.......the slut they want to have erotic/kinky sex with and the way they visualize what they want in the way of a wife and mother.... .....I agree with most postings here....they can be one and the same......in this day and age....it is rare that either the man or woman will be virgins....each have had expereinces....that said.....the number really does not change the mathamatics.....neither is, what was considered, in days past as being PURE ...so neither is in a position to judge the other......sexual experiences, is not the defining point, as to whither either would be a good wife/husband.....mother/father.......its the insides of the person.....that defines their character.......

I don't know doodle about complexes, but it seems more to the point what you are asking about is the old double standard. And I am happy to report that in my little corner of the map it is dieing a slow death.
While men still don't want a relationship with the woman who never leaves the club alone, neither do women want a relationship with the 'stud' who never leaves alone.
Many men are now holding themselves to a higher standard as well, and will not get sexualy involved with a woman outside of a realationship, or very soon into dating a new woman.
It seems that what has turned the tide has been a change in women's attitudes and behavior. Without going into lengthy detail...it turns out that being used for sex has a profound effect on men. There was a country song that said something like...us good ol' boy will be good ol' boys until the good ol' girls go bad. Turns out the song was right.

Yes, I know it actually has nothing to do with Madonna Ciccone. I just had to make my comment following another poster's thoughts on her.
Your post about this concept having roots as an early form of birth control are way off base. It's basically how some men find it difficult to have sexual desire for a woman they are in love with and vice versa.
