It varies from person to person.
I appreciate her decision and self-control.
However, I don't regret losing my virginity early. It helped develop my self-confidence and I did enjoy it.
Yes, I mean VERY early. (I was 13 years old and she was 14)
No, it didn't maladjust me.
Today, I'm very successful, well educated, very well-adjusted, and am very happy.
So even though we applaud jellybean, please don't pass judgment on the rest of us and (more importantly) don't make assumptions about the rest of us.

jellybean-
Good for you! I was your age when I first had sex with my fiance. It is worth waiting for!
For those that had it earlier-all about personal choice, right or wrong....

Not a virgin, and although it's not a huge regret that I beat myself down with, given the chance to change it I would.
I don't dwell on wanting to change it, because that's not possible, but I don't personally find it to have in any way been beneficial to me other than it helps me give grace to others.
Hold the v-card with pride jellybean.

Jellybean - at 52 and with 5 children, uh....no, I can't say I'm a virgin. It's been so long, though, that I FEEL like one, and may, indeed, become one again!
At what age to have sex is a decision that must be made individually by each of us. And you have to do what's right for you. Once you lose your virginity, however, you can never get it back - so make SURE it's the right time and the right person for you.
There are some here that have noted that they lost their virginity at a very young age, and that was their choice to do so. Others here have mentioned they were much older - again, their choice. I was about a month shy of my 22nd birthday - a VERY late bloomer. And I don't regret that for even a moment. If anything, I probably should have waited until later. But the person was there at the right time to make it an experience I'll never forget - and NOT because of the sex, believe it or not. But that's another story for another thread...I'll fill you in later. Uh...er...I mean, I'll TELL you later!
Oh, one other thing, Jellybean:
It seems like people are having alot of sex on here, I was wondering
I see that you only have a few posts, so you're fairly new to these forums. I think if you watch REAL closely what everyone posts, that you'll find that most people here WISH they had a lot of sex; I think there are relatively few here, however, that really do. Of course, that depends on what one considers "a lot", I suppose.

I have no quams about admitting I am. I took a vow when I was 12 or so. No sex prior to marriage. I can tell you it isn't easy. But in the long run I believe it will be the right decision. My life and love will be complete my mates and no one elses. And hey, if I never marry, at least I won't have Gonorerea!

I'm 25 and I'm still waiting. I chose long ago to wait til I was married and I'm sticking with it. If a guy won't wait for me then he's not the right guy for me.

Seriously, I respect anyone that has that kind of discipline. I have a good friend that is still a virgin at 30. It is difficult for him at times. Another friend decided to give up after 27 years, I was his first but he didn't let me know until we'd been intimate for several months. Though I wasn't the love of his life, he chose me because we are good friends, we care for each other and there is a great deal of trust there.
