Weeeeellll, that is a valid point. The same argument is made with beauty pagents. It is superficial and shallow to have woman compete in that way, and in the end, it is not always the prettiest girl that gets the crown.
Having said that....
If you ARE going to have a pageant (or a thread), you have to pick somebody to wear the crown. That may or may not be the right head, and there will never be a time when everyone agrees.
At least this way, everyone can voice an opinion and many can win.

I find it hard to call a woman sexy that I have never met in person. I think that's the only way to tell. There are so many nice women are this sight in the forum's. I could not list them all for I would hate to miss someone.

If I could just make a comment....I have worked in a mans field for almost 10 years and men on average do look at a women and judge how hot she is. I hear it all day long. The guys on the job site will notice a girl/woman walk by and the first thing they comment on is how hot she is..or how sexy..or cute. Its just how they are. I have yet to hear one say Oh she has a hot brain.
But that doesnt mean they dont dig a women for her laughter..or intellegence..her gentleness. And even if her, scale of hotness is not a 10, that doesnt mean he wouldnt go out with her. or cherish her..or love her...He is just commenting on how she looks to him...And we can tell by the posts that all men feel different. Its silly for women to maybe say that what he is doing is immature or stupid but thats how most men are..... and I wouldn t change a thing about them...I love men...every part of them......

Well said..and in defense of the guys..or atleast this one..not all of us are insensitive , immature creatures..all of the time. We ( I ) do have feelings, emotions, sensibility,all the things that get overlooked when we whistle at a cute chick wearing Daisy Dukes.
Being men though, its hard to let those emotions shine thru..we like to keep it to ourselves instead of risk being seen as effeminate. Like on That 70's show when Midge left Bob, Bob and Red are at the bar and Bob says " I might cry" to which Red replies, "and I might have to punch you" .

IMHO, I don't believe women here are saying the men are immature or stupid for reacting to how "hot" a woman is... that is anatomy 101 .. we all realize that men have testosterone levels racing throught their bodies all the time - this by no means makes them immature or stupid, and I don't believe that is what anyone meant to imply. I believe when the women that have said they thought it was not admirable to keep the thread alive, was not because they were not named, but it makes everyone that was not named seem less than desirable, which is not true. Same holds true for the sexy man on MD thread. Listen, we all have our own hormones that smack us upside the head whenever we see someone that is, in our eyes, a "hottie", but does that mean we should name them? Everyone has something desirable or something that sets them apart from the others, does it mean we should start a thread so that we can all list our own praises? If the men posting here feel the women they have named make their hearts race and other anatomy come alive.. then by all means email or message that heartthrob and let them know.. or email your buds and bring the "hottie" to their attention. I just believe in being kind to all. This is just my opinion and I am not pointing fingers or saying it is wrong, I truly just think it causes some a twinge of hurt which is unnecessary. I am sensitive to others feelings just as much...But I feel if the men want to name someone they dont need to email the person directly......
If the women dont want to know ......then they need not come and look.
What I think is embarrassing is that we women are actually making a fuss if we are listed or not...Is your self worth determined.... if you are listed on a hottie list or not. Good God women raise your heads high for just being you.
The men have a whos hottest list and they are wallowing in self pity.
