I've been noticing and talking about it for years. At first my friends pooh-poohed me, but most have been convinced by personal experiences. I saw it briefly referenced in another thread as "mating season" and thought I would give it a thread of its own.
I don't know if it is different in the southern hemisphere than the northern, or if it might be a phenomenon unique to the US. I know many men think they are horny all the time, but during "horny season" it has a little different quality.
It's that time of the year when the opposite gender all look just a little better, all smell a little better, smile more friendly, walk with a lighter step...and think more about sex. Men take more notice of women; women take more notice of men.
It actually occurs twice a year -- in the spring: from the middle of March to the end of May and in the fall: for the first two weeks of September.
Take note -- in a few years you will be looking forward to horny season and saying "I heard about that or read it somewhere..."

My "horny season" actually starts in early January and lasts till a week or so after Christmas.

I can understand spring and early summer, especially living in the North, All winter every women might as well be islamic, for the thousands of layers... then again.. I did always like unwrapping....
but, the arrival of shorts,swimsuits, halters, etc...

I agree with the posts of it being that the sun is out and the clothes start coming off. I am amazed at how many more men hang around the job site when Im in my shorts.....

I think it's where the sun is in the sky -- vernal and autumnal equinox -- maybe the right amount of day and night.....doesn't mean sex isn't good any time of year, just that people look better during those horny seasons -- and the juices flow more freely.

There's just something about SPRING! Fresh air, flowers in bloom and sunshine. It helps provide a feeling of well being. When I feel well, I feel more "romantically inclined!"

Or it could just be that for lack or 'gettin any' for a period of time, and still be interested, any day thats bright and sunny brightens ,lightens the mood ,heightens the senses and ...lost my train of thought...

Hmmmm to me it can be compared to a scratched vinyl record that starts off and justs get stuck in that mode.
My horney season started at 11 years old and pretty much has stayed strong -without seasonal influences.

I have noticed that everytime the first signs of Spring show up that I get MUCH more hornier than usual.... like I'm in heat or something. So, yes... I think there is something to that!
