I went to a past life "Group Hypnosis" session once in New York and came away with some unexpected "Visions"...
They spanned time in Sweden, China and ancient South America searching for rain forest plants to die Alpaca, Llama wools for weaving. Today I actually create alot of "Fabric" art integrated into my painting projects..hmm wonder where that came from. These type of sessions really does get everyone thinking about their "Natural talents" as they good be residual talents from prior lifetimes.
Past lives or either a vivid imagination, who knows...

Do you feel the least bit guilty about the priest's death, Sister?
No past life for me. I have one chance to get it right, and I'm in the here and now.

I actually remember parts of my past life.
However, funny enough I have had two other peoples "view".
One view was as a monk!
The other, a central African that could see the future.
*wished they had a smilie that scratches his head!

I do remember elements of past lives ~ too many to go into detail about
I've had many lives, but one common theme in some of these lives is that I was "the keeper of the truth" ~ I would not rescind what I knew and would die rather than suppress, given the social and political implications of revocation.

I remember a bit, but something has to spark my memory.
According to a very reputable psychic, I was a young pretty blonde who died in a car accident, and because of this I drowned. I carry over a fear of suffocating...and I actually do have a fear of suffocating.
I am interested in learning more about it and possibly remembering more about it but at the sam time I realize that I have to focus on my current life, not my past or future lives.

I agree the past is the past yet I think if we completely ignore it, we don't fully see ourselves in the here and now, understanding and appreciating how we have become who we are today.
With our understanding of today, the here and now, let us then gladly enter what tomorrow brings.

I also agree the past is the past. However, some residual fears, phobias linger on past the previous lifetime. Fear of enclosures, heights, committed relationships, snakes, and the list goes on. I've actually met individuals who've rid their fears completely under past life hypnosis. They've told me how they recognize the initial cause (a drama filled event). Once they understand the underlying cause the fear disappears.
I still think that positive attributes carry on as well. I was very good at playing piano at 7 years of age and was able to pick up advanced songs by ear or compose my own. Though I haven't pursued it beyond my own playing pleasure, I know it goes beyond the average ability to advance through practice.
Possible residual talent is recognized, when the talent comes very easy to you, "Like a duck swimming in water", void of repetitive practice.
I'm sure many of those with natural talents, art, music, writing, ability to calm others, building, fixing things, etc. have carried talents forward from previous lifetimes...
8Knots, yes I could see you as a Monk! Smile..
Anybody recognize their own residual talents?

Thanks MeadowLark, you are a true Angel
Yes, I have an innate ability as an artist (painter).
If, people remembered their past lives, I dont think so many Christians will be quick to believe what they do.... Goes for some other religions too....

I would say to pay attention to your dreams. They are sometimes from a past life and you can usually recognize that if you are paying attention. I have had one dream that I knew without a doubt was from a past life.
However, some residual fears, phobias linger on past the previous lifetime. Fear of enclosures, heights, committed relationships, snakes, and the list goes on I agree. Also, we often meet people that we are totally at ease with or instantly dislike. That is from being involved with them in past lives too.

Birth marks are interesting. Often it is believed that they are karmic residues from previous life time.
I have a dent in my left thigh that I believe was where i had been speared in a previous life. Also have a terrible phobia of pointed objects. Even table knives pointing towards me on the opposite seating. I have to turn their angle away from me and either excuse myself for doing so or ask the other person to move it often with their weird look.
When seriously ill which has happen a couple of times in my life time I have had horrendous nightmares of spears darting towards me. When on three occasions people have pulled a knife out on me to rob me, I had floored them to the ground within a fraction of a moment before they knew what hit them, so I guess a phobia can be good for something.

Lol, who would want to have to live more than once, gee, once is more than enough for me? I want to go to my rewards, to live again would be severe and unusual punishment to me.
Don't get me wrong, I love life, and I am a very happy person, but everyones lives have the valleys and the mountains, and I am tried of being way down in the valley and tired of having to scale the mountains, lol.
No, ONCE is more than enough.

Egad!!
I am so in-agreement Bev.
I think partially because of the fact that every day is filled with so much personal effort. Considering all the different ways of responding to most of the tiny, seemingly insignificant moments where a response is demanded from me.
Of course there are some situations that catch me off-guard, and I'm not able to devote any time to considering the emotions displayed on my face. But for the most part, I like to be fully aware of every situation I'm found-in.
And also like Bev, I definitely enjoy life. I feel completely free to exhibit the wealth of joy inside of me. Sometimes I'm bursting to let it out!
But make no mistake, beneath the sometimes silly exterior, dwells a man cognizant of the evils residing in this world.
I'm not a faker. I'm an authentic person. I'm a Servant. And I work at sharing the joy I feel. (Fairly hard sometimes). I am truly looking forward to my time of rest when I receive my heavenly reward.
I believe I'm only given once to die. (Seems to me I've read that before somewhere. So I am not the author of that expression. )

I was a rough and evil man who had no problem with chastising those who got in my way. I still remember clearly that I went to church quite regularly but thought nothing of this one god that was supposed to be three, or of his people. They were obviously just playing good if they talked about meeting him and talking to him and even worse him talking to them.
Then one morning I woke up in a hospital bed to find that most of those I loved had been killed and I knew that that I too was dying. I had a clear vision of Him next to my bed - and He was love and compassion and sorrow. That was when my previous life ended and my current life started. It took some time for me to understand this new dimension that entered my life but when I submitted to His will all became clear to me. I understood that He was real, that His words were real, that His offer of redemption was real and that my purpose on earth was completely different from what I had envisaged.
I still remember every detail of my previous life but now I am a completely different person who can not but talk of His love and the freedom that He offers everybody - freedom that comes from knowing your fate, knowing that you are deemed to be without faults and knowing exactly what your purpose is on earth.

Too bad that some seem intent to turn this into a bash someone else's religion thread.

I was a 'Nobody' My Daddy Abba knew I could only do this 'earth thing' but once.
Of course if I was inclined to believe in past lives I would have to say I was a bovine and quite a well adjusted bovine at that.
