Have you separated from your body? Travelled in the Astral dimension or something similar?

No,but after reading about how the Aboriginies in Australia are trained to be able to leave there bodies I found it is amazing that they are able to.Much like some of our Native Americans were able to also.

Ive heard of Astral travelling, in England we call it Astral projection.
I thought I had a Astral experience once, but it was during sleep, and as most people are asleep when they happen, I think it could be put down to a dream.

I've experienced astral travel (separation from my own body) twice.
First time was after the best man from my wedding suddenly died. I was pulled out of my body during sleep as was a ball of light and witnessed his presence in a ball of light too, above my bedroom. Our conversation was in pure thought and emotion, not in language.
Second time I witnessed a friend's death as it happened. He was decapitated in a car accident. I couldn't go to the funeral because I saw his death through his eyes.
The above has changed my perception on life itself since I've experienced the paranormal - first hand.... not something seen on T.V., read in a book or heard in random talk from others.
There is more to this world than we know physically. Wish all could experience what I did so they would live their daily lives with more thought and purpose.....

There is more to this world than we know physically. So true Meadowlark, have you ever read any books done by Carlos Casteneda? He had a way through dreaming to leave your body.It isnt something easy because he does explain how its done but very few people can actually do it.

Because of the atmosphere in here I am hesitant to post this however what has happened has happened and I just want to share with the few open minded individuals here. Years ago I spent a great deal of time doing transcendental meditation. I left my body many times in the spirit and went where ever I wished. This went on for well over ten years. About 15 years ago I was involved in a terrible accident in which the paramedics claim I died. What they did not know what that I was deep in my meditative state and separated from the pain of the incident watching them work on me. My heart rate got so low they thought I died and forced me back into my body. I have never been able to meditate since that time. Something changed and I am not sure what it was. They say I died, I say I didn't. One thing did happen for sure. God woke me up from the slumber that I was encased in.
Just thought I would share even if the flak starts flying.

I know why you think the flak might start flying seal but it wont matter. Truth matters and you hold it.

Hey Janika:
I've read countless books on the subject since then... and now drifting into theories on astro-physics to find some answers. However, the amount that humans know in that realm is like a grain of sand compared to what the "All knowing energy of the universal mind" (god) holds in its' truth....
And Sealacamp...generally people will doubt and question what they did not experience "First hand" for themselves. That's a natural, human quirk, nothing more.
Not everyone gets to see the other side... For me, I think it was a blessing...

I've been in mental states where the body senses were nearly unfelt. I think it's far simpler than what's being infered here. Every natural state the mind can be in is far from being measured and catalogued. So some people can make themselves feel like they jump out of their bodies, roam about freely by using various chemicals, self torture, sensory depravation, dehydration, or even a high fever. The logical and most likely explaination: dimension travel. and "we" as in humanity, know very little about the physical world anyway, the non-physical being a part of that, or the reverse.

1968...Winnipeg Manitoba I spoke to my rabbi right before services started
He said..."You appeared to me when I was in the 'Dentist's chair' Don't remember any further discussion... I was shocked and disoriented by his comment I think I was in denial .he said it soooo" calmly as if he was saying I saw you as I was driving to the dentist.
1978..........Winnipeg Manitoba My ex boyfriend told me that during our initial separation I had appeared at his bedroom door He described my yellow terrycloth nightgown with the blue stripes down the side. He had never once seen me in a nightgown
Unlike the rabbi he was 'freaked out' with the experience I remembered the rabbi and sent my boyfriend to him
It wasn't until later that I learned that this was called Astral travel I hadn't willed it I was unaware of it Both times I was sleeping
When the rabbi was in the dentists chair I was pregnant and fond of taking naps I'm assuming I was asleep the other time because the friend said it was when he was in bed and I 'was' in my nightgown. And no... I was never told that I actually entered his bedroom I was very much aware of my upbringing re sex outside of marriage Glad to see my Astral self behaved
Where attention goes....energy flows and we are after all made up of energy. I do know that I was concentrating heavily on both the recipients of my 'projection' immediately prior to sleeping.
It can be dangerous tho....what if a person has a heart attack or goes 'over the edge' when one 'appears' to them.
