for myself............
I have had enough!
Its ok for Professed Christians to ridicule, slam, attack, insinuate, judge, assume, and the list goes on...........
and then cry when others do likewise to them!
though some Christian posts may not be as diercted, or to the point, they are equally as cutting and nasty, just more subtle about it.
To anyone reading, it shows Christianity and hypocrisy are synonamous!
myself.......... I am not prejudice !
I slam everyone, with equal fairness!
*********** this post is not directed at all Christians, only those who complain at being attacked, and then justify their own behavior by saying ridiculous comments such as, " well look at all the things he has said about me!"
Personally,
I have been called an atheist, a buddhist, an agnostic, evil, two face, and everythng else in here and in emails.
all by Christians, who know absolutely nothing about me!

If you want rspect........ your obligation is to be, who you claim to be!
cut and pasting scriptur does not earn rspect. How you deal with controversy does!
If you claim to love the Lord, show it by action, not words on a screen, tha conflict with that which you claim!

I have enjoyed the postings of non believers, because of the insight and the awareness of reality, from their POV..........
Its the Christians (some), that make me want to

I understand where you are coming from. When I first joined MD, I had "Christian" on my profile. After seeing some of the postings here, I changed it to "Spiritual". Of course, it now reads "Buddhism" as I have adopted that as my main way of thinking.
It's funny. People that believe the Bible and the concept of hell are putting themselves in danger (according to their beliefs) by some of the posts they make. Didn't Jesus warn about turning even one of his children away?

Then I'm sure if it is reality you seek in blogland skydog then I'm sure you read my blog Being so Hypocritical of Yourself because that is reality.I removed your name from one hypocrit that I quoted but let me remind you of what a Christain is.It isnt one that claims to be Christain then changes their minds because of what they see someone else doing.
To be a real Christain,there isnt any doubt...no halfway point,either you are or your not.Faith has strong meaning and people with little real faith arent real devoted Christains.Devotion being the key word here.

Good for you skydog and thats why I removed you from my friends list.I have friends atheist,agnostic and not Christains but I wouldnt consider a person that admits to slamming everyone as a friend anymore then I would consider a person whose personal beliefs change according to who or what they want someone else to think of them at a particular time.

I know where you are coming from. Many times I felt like withdrawing from participating in the R&S Forum.
What keeps me here is the fact that without people like us providing alternate views, The views of the pseudo christians remaining can lead many people astray.
Many people like Mom and myself started participating in this forum to seek questions to the many questions we had at the time as well as the questions we still have. Overall I have gained much knowledge here. Both positive and negative.
People that are searching should have a place where different views are presented so that they can make knowledgeable choices.
That is what keeps me here.

I'm sorry that you feel that way. Seems the politics and religion forums bring out some insights as well as those who just want to put others down in order to come out on top. Most times I just read and don't post, 'cause I don't like to argue just for the sake of hearing my own voice! If I feel strongly enough about a statement, I post a comment. Like you, I enjoy reading others' points of view. Makes me challenge myself and think about what it is I believe. I just leave when some continue to slam others' views, or become "preachy". Debate is good--that's part of the purpose of the forums. But even the best debaters know that you can have your say and let the other guy have his as well.
As far as the many who call themselves Christians yet don't behave that way here--Christ had a few words in Matthew 23:13--"Woe to you Scribes and Pharisees... Because you shut the kingdom of heaven against men, for you neither enter yourselves nor allow those who would enter to go in". (RSV)
I'm not usually much of a scripture quoter, but this seemed appropriate.

Well Sky the reason I walked away from Christian Theology was because of in the churches and on TV what was said, was grossly different than what people actually practiced. I could no longer take the hypocrisy.
But I didn't run away from Christianity in my beliefs but did run away from pretenders.
On here I take the position that I told you before Christianity is not text, nor a church.

Lets not get too bogged down with the R&S local environment. Its a small group. Why its small is because of the non-inclusion from those who should know better to keep their mouths shut. Fortunately the Buddhists and Taoists persevered. Lets focus more on on a larger scale, this country, the world, and also take into account history, not just last week. Christianity suffers the way it does because of Christians. They have been at each other's throats since the Reformation. When they weren't killing each other they were killing Jews and burning witches. Lets not forget the cesspool of humanity where Christianity comes from. When the conquistadors landed their ships, they took clergy with them too. It was important to spread the word even if they had to literally spread fire and brimstone upon the people to give them an actual example of what to expect when they die. Given how many of the indigenous where treated, death was often a better option.
What Christianity is today is a mere shadow of its violent past and is governed by power hungry megalomaniacs who make hundreds of millions off of morons who feel tithing is cheap ticket to heaven and being brainwashed is better than sex (unless you're the reverend). The sheeple's heaven comes after they die while the reverend's heaven is in the here and now.
The brainwashing is so thorough that each follower becomes like an Amway salesperson looking to pyramid themselves to have others join the herd or flock. Some kind of animal. They believe everyone needs their brand of detergent and all other brands are evil and won't work. They do this from an absolutist mentality on a pathological level. Christians of this kind deserve mockery and ridicule because what they believe and what they say is often so ludicrous that laugher is the only rational response. There is nothing funnier than a four legged animal talking. Well, maybe. They really believe Balaam's ass spoke. If you believe the bible is the inerrant word of god and you believe Balaam's ass really spoke then you are an ass. Unless you think that part of the bible had a joke inserted into it.
That is the funny side. The not so funny side is what they want to do to everyone. They want to rule every thought you have, every act you do, and basically suck the life right out of everyone to be a slave to their dogma. Some have even gotten so far into this pathology they have fantasies of Armageddon and Rapture. Hagee, for example, wants war so bad he can taste it and is looking to provoke it any way he can. Somehow war will bring Jesus back to life. Anyone looking to bring peace in the middle east is consider to be an Antichrist. Its right there in the good book. Its a sick eschatology that exists within Christianity is undeniable and dangerous. Any Christian who denies this doesn't know about their own religion.
Oh, were we talking about hypocrisy? Right. That might be the least of their problems. Any spiritual system that creates an environment where hypocrisy thrives is really not a spiritual system at all.

One of the biggest things I have learned here is how people who proclaim to follow Jesus can take the love he taught and throw it back in his face.

I want to first say,
sometimes I am careless with words and their subsequent interpretation. I have never claimed to be, nor would....... A good, righteous, or holy Christian.
I accepted Jesus death, burial, and ressurrection as my salvation, many years ago!
I love Jesus, with all my heart for what He did for me, and who He is ! No man, either living or dead, will ever change or redirect my opinion or feeling about that!
Does that make me a Christian......... I guess that would depend on definition.
I see that some here, are clueless of the meaning of Christianity.
Being is Christian, is not continually walking around with a sober face, never smiling, always carring a bible, and always getting offended when someone has differing viewpoints.
What I hate seeing here is......... The harder some would try to convince others how good they are, and how much they are a "christian" ........... the more damage they do to His name! It literally makes me ill !
Now heres an example.........
I own a company with many empolyees.........
If people were quitting continually, and I was told repeatedly, it was because of my actions and behaviors..... I would most certainly rethink my position! Yet some in here, seem to take pleasure in it, believing that means they are an even better christian, because they have this "delusional" thought, that this kind of reaction is what being christian is all about!
If you turn people away from Jesus, or from listening to you, How can you honestly believe you are serving Him? This is just warped !

Here is a fundamental difference between us .........
You see and judge people based on belief .

I see people as being people. I do not look at a persons faith, belief, color, or hairstyle. Why coud you not just say, I have friends?
I see the labels you attach as offensive!
Now....... I have never attacked nor said anything even remotely downgrading about you, desoite all I have heard and recieved emails about. On the contrary, I have uplifted and supported you. Yet you continually feel the need to slam me, which you have done so, and did today. Yet you remove me from friends because I made the statement " I slam everyone, with equal fairness" . That my friend, is the very hypocrisy I speak about! It is ok for you to do, but damn anyone else who does in like!
You have shown me nothing, in your behavior, I would remotely classify as being a good servant, yet I still , despite your slams about me, believe you are. I am sorry if you dont care for the fact that I find things amusing, such as your behavior. Not everyone here believes, you cant mix a little humor and fun in with serious conversation. To my knowledge, you neither own nor control these threads.
Do I find sarcasm funny? Most definately....... and it serves a purpose ! It gets peoples attention! Being honest here......... A thought I have often is..... I wonder what Hammer is going to do next!

Even a simple truth, that has bypassed me all these years, that I completely missed, such at the true identity of lucifer!

I have never claimed to be a biblical scholar. I know more than some, less than others. What I find absolutely fascinating here is , with all everyone attacks Hammer about...... he posesses more biblical knowledge, and knowledge, of the times of Christ, than most of us do!

I have............ as a long ago servant, it kinda shows me Hammer is a true seeker of truth! In his research, he has found much to convince himself Jeusu is myth. He is not just dreaming this up folks, he can back up everything he claims with logic, and historical fact!
Yet he is here. Everyone thinks and wants to believe it is solely for the purpose of bashing! Again you judge, without logic, or reason! He wants, just one single christian, to prove him wrong, and give him reason to believe !!!!!!!!!!!
Yet most christians in here, would rather take offense, than step up to the plate, and do what they are called to do! Defending Jesus is not running from, or attacking non believers! Defending Jesus, is showing proof of why we believe, and making it desireable for others to seek, what we have found !
Katt, Angel, and several others excluded............ how many of the rst of us,can honestly say, we do this!
I know for certain, I do not....... This is why I am no longer a servant.
It has nothing to do with my belief and faith in Christ, and I will have words, with anyone in the future, who continues to accuse me of it. You do not dishonor me, you dishonor the one who died for you !

that was probably the single most fitting scripture, I can think of ! It perfectly describes the mindset in here, of "some", who behave in exact like as the Pharisees.

And that is it in a nut shell. To those Christians Sky is talking about, every time you bash, name-call, or laugh AT us, you are dishonoring the one that you believe sacrificed his all for you.
What a way to pay him back.
