If God is perfect, why would He create something that is so imperfect?
He certainly was not lonely, since He had all of the angels to keep Him company and share His love and happiness and they in turn would worship and love God- thus no reason for duplication.
Wait! This was not a perfect design either as the bible tells us all about the "fallen" angels.
Maybe the angels were practice for our existence?
But, that would mean He failed again and is not perfect.
Or could the bible be the imperfection?
Is this just a hobby to see how many of us would turn out as he wished?
For what purpose were we, the imperfect, created by God?

The whole thing is a fable and the story itself wasn't perfect but there is no shortage of perfect idiots that believe anything they're told.

The creation of a god is a symbol of man's constant fight for perfection. It is the very foundation of civilazation itself. Nobody is perfect, but most strive to be as close as we can be.
That's my opinion.

Good question sir. It reminded me of the word worship...I read a long time ago, perhaps on Sumerian history, that the word worship is derived from the root word "work". If this is so a likely reason for our creation was to work the gardens of the gods...as where else would the greenery and animals be found. And I'm quite sure that the nature of the greenery at that time was like the greenery of today. If it is not continually tended, it overgrows everything. We were created to work for the gods...this might explain where man learned how to enslave other men...and religions could be developed that declared that those that served the servers of the gods would be also be cared for by the gods. Mans' ego is like the greenery.

The creation of a god is a symbol of man's constant fight for perfection. An imperfect man can dream of perfection he doesn't have or could possibly know. This is why over 3000 gods were invented in an attempt to create the perfect ideal of a god. Judging by how horrible the god of Abraham was made and the resulting slaughter, we can know those who invented him were barbaric. You can see the evolution of this god in the NT. They didn't get it right the first time. Got it a little better the second time but now we got eternal hell and suffering. A much more devious god actually. So the work of inventing perfection continues. So far no perfect god has been invented but many have become perfect excuses for the destruction of others.

If God is perfect, why would He create something that is so imperfect? Because we...man, created our own imperfections?

Jankia, are you implying that we created ourselves? Where did our imperfections come from then, was there something not created by the creator?
I don't know that God/creator/the infinite/all that there is, was trying to create perfection, or to create something like our attempts to create artificial intelligence. Something that could evolve into something more, and then into something beyond that. I don't necessarily believe that what we are now is the pinnacle of creation, but then I don't believe we're done evolving. Maybe that 2012 date will be the end of this cycle and the beginning of a new one...I dunno, but I don't believe the bible is perfect truth either.

No Heaven I'm not implying that at all. Look at it this way,God didnt create the automobile,he gave man the mind to create it himself. Thats what I meant by the imperfections created by ourselves in my question.

But the means to conquer those imperfections, wherever they came from, is one of the "tools" we've been given -- too.

If one looks at it from the point of view of an artist then all creations are works of perfection. Picasso was famous for his deliberate distortions. A beauty mark is a deliberate imperfection whose intention is to direct one's attention to the beauty of the rest of the face. What is perfection anyway? Does anyone really know? One can say the whole universe is perfect simply because it exists and it functions as it does. Living in accordance to one's true nature is perfection. The Japanese Tea Ceremony is perfection.
