Despite the fact that my spirituality is eclectic, I celebrate Easter and find it to be meaningful as expressed in this piece I've written, simply called "Easter"
Oh Holy Light cascade down on me, bringing the warmth and tenderness of the Sacred. Arise Oh Light! and bring me the bread of the One who fed the masses with His Love. Because of His life mine is better, for I am very clear as to how to live, and I give to those around me. And I see what is needed and treat my neighbor with respect, and protect those who need it. With my life in synchronicity I am forever linked to a Source of Love that will never dissolve around me. It is with deep gratitude that I weep, knowing I will keep my promise to Love. Because of One man I stand before you, offering Love as I walk in the sand.

What if anything does Easter mean to you, religiously, spiritually, or otherwise?

It means a bigger sunday dinner with family, and more candy for kids.
And rabbits. Lots and lots of rabbits.
For those who remember my blog last year... yes, a lot has changed since then. For the better.

Sunrise service. There is a huge hill east of our churches cemetary. The cemetary sits in the country and was next to our old Methodist church before it was demolished many years ago. At the top of that hill were placed three large crosses and every Easter mourning the congregation meets at the cemetary and we hold service outside watching as the sun rises slowly making the crosses on that hill standout. After the service we all go back to our church where it is today and enjoy breakfast. My kids are older now so I dont hide Easter baskets anymore but I still load up on those chocolate covered marshmallow wabbits.

let me see, what does easter mean to me? let me take my lamp and walk to and fro tonight and see. or perhaps i might walk about in the light tomorrow and perhaps i might see better so that my judgement might not be clouded by darkness. easter is simply a created holy day recreated into another holiday. but, to me easter reminds me to continue to beware of men and their commandments. we be jammin

JJ You aint no fun. You must have your own chicken coop. Go scoop up some eggs and color them up with food coloring and hide them for the kids. And if you see a rabbit that day just don't shoot him. Let him live another day.....But if you see Elmer Fudd, shoot him or tell him its duck season...

The only thing it makes me think of is the time when I was a child and Dad planted Easter eggs in the backyard of our home for a family Easter egg hunt, and in other years when mom used to have me help her color hard boiled eggs. I got a basket of jelly beans and hollowed chocolate rabbits with white stuff or cherry sauce inside them in a basket full of green plastic grass.
Also a couple of years ago when I was on the plenty-o-fish website there was some woman on there that had a profile photo of a bunny that got run over and flattened on the roadway and all his Easter basket goodies where spread across the highway. It's a truely tasteless photo for anyone that has ever seen it. Kinda depressing too considering that she had put it up around Easter time.
Anyway these are the images I get when I think of Easter. Also, I guess I went to church a couple of times ..... and Easter also makes me think of my dead Grandma.
That's about it.

Angel you are a truly gifted writer!
To me Pascha represents a time of rebirth and rejoicing that springs from the spring season of nature and the rebirth that applies to All that there is. The best part to me is when people of all faiths, races and religions come together in a park setting where the children are turned loose to find hidden eggs. It provides a moment in time of common union between everyone in your immediate community, regardless of your own beliefs.
Easter is termed a movable feast because it is not fixed in relation to the civil calendar. Easter falls at some point between late March and late April each year (early April to early May in Eastern Christianity), following the cycle of the moon. After several centuries of disagreement, all churches accepted the computation of the Alexandrian Church (now the Coptic Church) that Easter is the first Sunday after the first fourteenth day of the moon (the Paschal Full Moon) that is on or after March 21 (the ecclesiastical vernal equinox).
Eostur-month, which is now interpreted as the paschal month, was formerly named after the goddess Eostre, and has given its name to the festival."

Easter and the several days proceeding it are The Icing on the Cake of all that is Christianity. The Death burial and Resurrection Of Jesus Christ Shine brightly in The Witness of What this day Stands for Throughout Christianity.
The Easter Holiday Is the Witness Of the Greatest Man That Ever walked The Earth. God incarnate Gave us an example to Follow back to a right life with him.
Most of all Those last three words upon the Cross It Is Finished. Ushered in A new Beginning for all of mankind. They may have sounded like a broken whisper. But They were The Greatest Triumphant shout in all of History of man. The Devil knew in that moment he was Defeated. The Goal Had been Accomplished through all the trials pain and suffering The Second Adam Had Gloriously accomplished his purpose. The redemption of Man through Obedience and The Sacrifice of Self. Then Three days later He arose from the Grave. The Conqueror of Death and Hell. OUR REDEAMER LIVES

I enjoy Easter because I get to buy a stuffed rabbit for someone special and have dinner with family. The myth isn't that important even though I might attend church on Sunday. I enjoy doing that to watch a performance. Sometimes you see a few wack jobs waving their hands around too...

To me, Easter is the rebirth of the Earth after a long winter's sleep.
It's also egg hunting with the kids and hopefully a good dinner....which I probably will cook.

and the monkeys cry out JESUS! and my teacher says " many shall say unto me Lord Lord, and i shall say, depart from me ye workers of inequity for i know ye not". thats a cool verse! he said many, not just a few! like 75 out of a hunnert at least! Jesus used many and a few quite often. I like to think it was representative of the chosen and not those who chose. selah. oh!!! this is one of those contradictions in the bible! the other doodoo line is "whosoever calleth upon the name of the lord shall be saved!" LOL i do so love those red letters! we be jammin

Since I follow the "old ways", albeit loosely, Easter doesn't really mean a whole lot, per se. But it's symbolism of resurrection (spring/growth), same as the hope thrown down like a gauntlet on December 25th to reflect the return of the light (the sun/Son) at Winter Solstice, is certainly something I respect. And I find it pretty neat that this year Ostara/Vernal Equinox and Easter are so close together.
I just wish these things weren't so commercialized. Though the chocolate sales afterwards are nice.
