Oh No! Please dont choose! Not this day or any other day!
Blind faith is the death nail to spiritual development and when blind faith isnt necessary then why bother!
Choose is acceptance of something that isnt to be questioned but followed. Similar to sheep running off a cliff.
Isnt it reasonable to question all that there is infront of us and better still open to awareness of the world around to see the truth for ourselves?

That's pretty much the way I see it - and actually the way I try to see. I still can't reconcile the creator of all dictating to a select few prophets,in a relative backwater and allowing each to interpret his words, with this entire universe or even just this planet. It doesn't make sense to me - but I think I'll save that for the 'Ask a Christian anything' thread

Is it me or do Seal's posts read like they come from a "tickle me Elmo" doll?
When you push the right botton, he just says what has been prerecorded into him.

Please elaborate? He's saying blind faith is not the death nail to spiritual development. He likes blind faith and ignorance. To him that is spiritual development. I think we already knew this about him. Anyway, it must be from staring into those crazy house mirrors all over the house.

People had blind faith that the earth was flat...one downside to blind faith is you have no way of seeing what is right in front of you when it is incorrect.
The bishops and priests of God would make sure that any one who saw the earth curve at the horizon or the curve of the earth in the face of the moon would remain silent. The church held the authoritative position on astronomy until science discovered what was true...a position they held in almost all matters when accurate knowledge could not be discovered.
Sometime in the middle ages, the bible followers lost the knowledge that the earth moved around the sun...all the ancients knew, even the Sumerians knew the 9 planets 6000 years ago...and the most remarkable thing is they knew them from pluto coming toward the sun...earth was the 7th planet from the edge, the likely source for 7 being a lucky number. Modern man did not find Pluto until around the 1930.
True belief I would think would result in a different behavior than what is seen. Jesus spoke of being of service to others (works), then someone wrote that he also said works profit a man for nothing. Jesus said only one thing was required (christians say we read it wrong), He said "Don't you know you are God's? (christians say we're rewriting what was said). We were created in the image and likeness of God, Jesus said our bodies are temples of the living God, (christians say we are wretched). Jesus said the kingdom of God is within (christians say we can't find it by looking for it ourselves).
My use of the lead-in "christians say" in no way is meant to imply that all christians believe and say these things, only some who I read here in the forums have taken these positions. And not all on here speak of every position, but collectively it has all been said. When I read some posts I often ask the question to myself... "Don't they hear what they are saying?"

Faith is anything but blind. Faith is knowing your god to the place trust in him rules your dicisions without pause.
Blind faith Their is no such beast it would be ignorence.
My faith is not blind it is in A god I know And trust.
The only reason a persons faith in God would be Blind is if they lack knowledge, understanding and love for the God they claim to serve.
Yes their are many in just this state.
Mostly due to twisters of doctrin and despisers of truth Like yourselves!
Choose you this day But know what you choose!

"Don't they hear what they are saying?"
I have not twisted or taken anything out of context from the bible...it does appear to be outside the context of your beliefs.

uncrazy,
"Don't they hear what they are saying?" When one is indoctrinated with religious beliefs over a long period of time, they refuse to accept what they see in written in black and white in there own bible. They will twist what is written to conform with their beliefs because they cannot accept the fact that they have been deceived.
"Don't they hear what they are saying?" would be a good thread topic.
Peace

"Don't they hear what they are saying?" One of the greatest problems when truth is all around so easy and simple to see, it becomes too difficult to grasp.

This stuff is becoming irksome... ...
Hunt:
Faith is anything but blind. Faith is knowing your god to the place trust in him rules your dicisions without pause. Are you really sure about this? I guess all sheep have faith in their shepard. Thats why they go to the slaughter house so easily.
Blind faith Their is no such beast it would be ignorence. Oh no!!! You didnt say this did you?
My faith is not blind it is in A god I know And trust.
The only reason a persons faith in God would be Blind is if they lack knowledge, understanding and love for the God they claim to serve. So, you know all?
Yes their are many in just this state.
Mostly due to twisters of doctrin and despisers of truth Like yourselves! Hate and anger is a terrible thing to have. One should stop at the moment and recognize in awareness of what one sayest and doest Then, maybe recognition will dissolve it.
Choose you this day But know what you choose! Been done thank you And no blind faith required. No having to trust historical nonsense and gibbering soothsayers.
It is all in recognizing the truth around us. Not written for us in blind faith and gobbldy gook. That stuff is for the Oompa Loompas!

Hunt All you have is blind faith, ignorance and delusion which includes a disturbed mind that hallucinates. This makes you essential spiritually retarded. You are a believer in fables, fiction and fantasy with all the workings of a circus tent freak show Christian revival with lunatics screaming in the isles and barking like dogs.

Well, I'm choosing this day to remember to be grateful for all the blessings I have in my life...and also to hope that the arrogant and the bitter can find some peace and joy in their souls.

Just an FYI: It's "knell," not "nail." A "knell" is a slow, mournful ringing of a bell.
