Who do you fear the most?

In the light of peoples beliefs, faiths, religions, philosophies who would you fear the most?

Being called a devil worshiper, heathen, witch, psycho, hallucinator, etcetera, could this have anything to do with fear?

This would cover many areas. Of ones soul being tainted by such persons, decline in belief, fear of being wrong..... etcetera.... you have your say...

There so many different fears inlife. At different times too.
The fear of being "different" when we are in school, the fear of not being liked at some point in our lives.

If this is not what you mean Knots, maybe you can explain a bit more?

I don't fear anything. Lol, I try to sometimes, like when I hear a bump in the night and since I am by myself, it would be very easy to fall into that one. I don't keep any weapons in my home, but faith. I fear God, but that is a different thing altogether.

Thank you, monkey for reminding me. I HATE SNAKES, lol, anykind, harmless or not.

Lol, knots, don't think I am afraid of being called names or I wouldn't be here. Afraid of their religions, faiths? No knotts, I only fear FOR the ones who follow those things, or who are those things.

Hmmm, that is an interesting question.

There is fear as in, heart beating fast, panicky type of fear, and there is fear as in dread.

The scared type of fear, I would say falling. I am not scared of heights at all, but one time I was working on a steep sloped roof and the foot board bracket came undone. I had to grab the edge of the roof before I fell. It was a 1-1/2 story house, so the fall wouldn't have killed me, but it scared me alot.

The dread kind of fear is that my kids will be mistreated when I am not there to protect them.

12knots,

In the light of peoples beliefs, faiths, religions, philosophies who would you fear the most?

In the light of the four things you offered, beliefs, faiths, religions, philosophies ,
the search within has found three fears that can corrode my thoughts.

1) I feared that God would abandon me.
2) I would not find the love of my life before I die.
3) I will fail in my life work and not have the energy to recover again.

You now glimpse the core of me, my ego was less than pleased that I would dare look in its holy realm of untouchable secrets it protects. And these three fears hide even something more detrimental than even the fear, an untruth the ego pretends it has forgotten.

Zealots -- and narrow-minded, tunnel-visioned, judgmental, all-or-nothing/my-way-or-the-highway "militant" believers, faiths, religion, and philosophies...those who dare to "threaten" or "condemn" those with other views.

Naming names...? Nah, I don't think anyone needs to go hunting for a bevy of those who choose to instill fear in the insecure.

Luckily, I have no fear in that department. The LAST thing I believe in is FEARING God or God's Word. How can one have respect for someone or something they're fearful of?

(I feel the same way about our government, lately...I've lost respect for the direction it's gone and have to admit of being fearful of it now )

I have great fear of these types when they're in positions of authority.

I fear the damage you and other religious zealots do to other people. It saddens me that their lives may be affected by embracing such a delusional scope on REALITY.

Unfortunately, these types are adept at weaseling their way into positions of authority. It's important to learn to recognize them and expose their "agendas". Of course how long has it taken for some of the "normal" Islamic sects to have their eyes opened? They, too, were caught in the frenzy of "right makes might".

There is nothing to fear but fear itself.

And fast carnival rides.

Whenever I feel afraid, I just

What scares me most is being up high with nothing to hold on to...more vertigo than fear.Even driving down a steep hill is scary for me. I came to terms with snakes and spiders when I was a kid - the only girl with a brother and a bunch of boy cousins gave me plenty of chance to get used to them.

Fear of God? Nope. Some people think he's a torturer, but I don't.

God is not torturer. He died to save us from that. You are right Heaven, but the fear of God is not really fear, unless it is an unbeliever, then maybe they have to fear. "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." Matthew 10:28.

Who said that Jesus never spoke of hell, that was sail, wasn't it?
