Romans 6:23-- "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is Eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Where do we find Eternal life? Is Eternal life found in many good works?
Do we find Eternal life in living as good people?
Do we even find Eternal life in living perfectly, even as He is perfect?
No. There is only one way to the Father + Eternal life: John 14--"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. 2--In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4--You know the way to the place where I am going.' 5--Thomas said to Him, 'Lord, we don't know where You are going, so how can we know the way?' 6--Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7--If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know Him and have seen Him."

John also starts his gospel telling us that Jesus is the word (the Logos).
This is very important to truly understand the message contained in his gospel.
You quoted:6--Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7--If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know Him and have seen Him." Now with the information John gave at the beginning of his gospel, let us see what his message is.
"Jesus answered, 'the word (Logos) is the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through the word (Logos). If you really knew [I][B]the word (Logos), you would know the word (Logos) of the Father as well. From now on, you do know Him and have seen Him."
Numerous times Jesus tells us that everything he says comes from his Father. The physical man (?) called Jesus is not the key, the key is the message (the word; the Logos) that he shares with us. The only way to the Father is by following his instructions. A wonderful concept and truly "good news".
The problem is that this doctrine does not have all the pomp; pageantry and trimming that other religions have that attract members. Christian dogma was an attempt to adorn Jesus' philosophy with the trimmings necessary to recruit members. In the process it lost track of the message it was originally built around.
Christians read the bible with preconceived notions and take the bible as literal. That is a mistake. The bible is like folklore. It is one big parable that with study, allows the philosophies of wise ancient men to emerge from its pages. These philosophies are much different than the violent, evil and bloody stories christians claim as their truth.
So "Jesus is the ONLY Way" is a correct statement when you understand what it means. "The Word (Logos of God) is the only way" was John's message.

A simple YES or NO will do.

hammie, ANY religion that acknowledges the existence of a Being greater than man, (or woman), is preferable to a self-serving, self-adoring religion. (Such as your own.)

You intentionally place yourself on a fence and shy away from making a firm stance on your beliefs. Why?
I hate to admit it but when Hammer compares your beliefs to that of a Ouija Board, he may be right. In your case, it seems you even allow other hands to control the pointer.
Your inability to respond to questions on where you stand on christian beliefs can only be attributed to one of two things. You either have doubts about christian dogma, or you believe it but are afraid of how people will react to your answer. If the latter is true, why would you fear the reactions?

"Jesus" here and this Christianity seems to fail dismally.
It becomes more of a joke day by day.
If anything these threads have taught me is the fact Christianity is a fundamental lie. Maybe at one time a "Jesus" existed but if he did then all that he may have taught has been bastardized into the garbage that exists today.
Other religions do have more credibility to an extent.
That is the only truth that can exist with Christianity.

The non-intelligence and lack of knowledge of those who make statements they can not defend with any veracity is its own testament this dogma is a fundamental lie. Delusion rules their mind. The fact is no one wrote anything about Jesus while he was alive so there is no veracity to any written statements that were made. The Gospels were written long after the mythical death of Jesus. No quote by anyone who said anything would be allowed in a court of law that isn't a witness. Hearsay is not allowed because of proven distortions and fabrications. Even eye witnesses often can't get their stories straight. Gospel of John was written a century after the mythical death of Jesus and its authorship is disputed. Worse than hearsay.
In 1969, as Neil Armstrong stepped off the ladder onto lunar soil said, "One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind". This was recorded. If it wasn't recorded, we may have never known those exact words. In 2069 someone might write what they think he said but would have had far more veracity than John quoting Jesus. They had no recording devices and there was nothing ever written down as Jesus spoke, if he even existed at all.
Christian "wisdom" is really dumbfounded ignorance. A hallo shallow anti-philosophy. Philosophy means love of wisdom.

First of all. While this is might be difficult for some people to imagine, I do not consider any of the central purposes of these threads to be hostile debate.
One purpose is to enable us to learn of other people's opinions in a friendly manner.
While some feign peaceful, non-hostile intents; something else is revealed in their actions, (posts).
This is the only reason I don't take the bait offered. (Meant to draw me into an argument. Though often such an exchange is called a discussion, or exchange of ideas. This is usually only camouflage though.)
I don't have "an inability " to respond to any questions what-so-ever Sail.
I have a post-secondary education.
But what I do have is the self-restraint not to give my opinion on absolutely everything. (A difficult concept to envision for some.)
Some people seem to believe that by announcing their opinion at the drop of a hat, they will become known as wise people. They crave to be held in high regard. They want to be known as very diversified in the factual information they have absorbed over the years.
Keep on opening your mouths boys. (Or gracing us with the products of your keyboards.)

You still have not commented on my first reply in this thread. Christians have no problem inserting Jesus' name wherever the "word" is mentioned. But suggest that they have it backward and should replace Jesus with "word", their reaction is "you can't do that". Why not?

The word is God. Jesus was sent to deliver God's word. This is stated by Jesus throught the N.T. Who otherwise claims different is in error.
