Every Sunday, is an announcement that Christianity reigns over us. Every corner and walk in life the non-Christians have to put up with this archaic, imposed, corrupted religion with its ‘The God delusion’ and ‘The virus of faith’ dogma.

On our sky-lines are Churches and Halls housing the mass ignorant.

If we are lucky we wont get one group or another knocking on our doors professing their dogma.

Why on earth should we have to put up with it?

We take our children to school and told, "we have a good Christian environment" or as one MD member wrote for her university, "I work in a lovely Christian environment."

If you arent a Christian then you are faced with its spectre.

Because the alternative is worse.

If I told you that my child is actually going to a school that girls give boys head during PE, pot and cigarettes are rampant in the restroom, and the bullies are beating the snot out of the geeks; you'd accuse me of child abuse.

You imply a Christian School is better than any other school?

This is strange when so many Christian schools have problems with religious child abusers.

Religious affiliation does not seem to have as great an impact on the sexual behavior of teens as is commonly thought. For example, while birth control and abortion are against Catholic teaching, Catholic women practice birth control and have abortions at the same rate as their Protestant counterparts. Teenagers in abstinence only sex education programs (and this was discussed at length on a thread on the politics forum) do not delay sexual behaviors very long and engage in all manner of unprotected and dangerous behaviors like anal intercourse with the thought that it "preserves" their virginity. Teens in abstinence only sex education programs have higher rates of STDs, because the programs vilify condom use.

No.

I got the best public education the State of Alabama could provide.

But public schools have their issues.

All schools have their issues. If we could solve the hormone and frontal cortex developmental probems of high schoolers, then I might say differently.

Remember, my Christianity is only 2.5 years old. I was saved in response to my mother's early death from cancer and my own suicide attempts.

Prior to that, I'd slug anyone who'd dare call me Christian.

Now if you don't like Sundays, I'm certain that your employer wouldn't mind getting another 8 hours from you.

Ditto think of all the money saved on Christmas gifts.

This is better to say than to imply Christian schools are better which isnt so.

If we could solve the hormone and frontal cortex developmental probems of high schoolers, then I might say differently.

This isnt true either.

Sorry to here that so I guess you ran to your form of Christianity out of despair and found solance where you could and getting trapped in the usual dogma instead of going further and learning the spiritualism of all knowledges.

Prior to that, I'd slug anyone who'd dare call me Christian.

Guilt?

Now if you don't like Sundays, I'm certain that your employer wouldn't mind getting another 8 hours from you.

Who said this? And why not another day off for other reasons?

Ditto think of all the money saved on Christmas gifts.

We are talking Sundays. Would you care to start a "Its Christmas, be a good Christian day." or shall I?

The point is generalizations and stereotyping institutions isnt the way to go. Think of the countless excellent private schools and the ezxcelent public schools across the country. Maybe they are bad where you live but I have never heard of one in the places I have lived in the States. On the contrary they have all been excellent with caring staff. Credit where credit is due.

awww... thanks Sail. And to you too.

In actual fact I do try and use this day for spiritual inspiration and reflection.

Sunday, is a good day and reminds me of my English village. The beauty of the church bells ringing, cricketers on the green, sun shining through the clouds and all is well with the world.

Take good heart always sail my friend.

Sorry, I have to laugh at this.

I was an 8 year prisoner of a Christian school. We were the most rebellious misbehaved kids around. (behind the scenes, of course, else we faced the ruler)

It wasn't until I went to public school that I saw kids that behaved better than we ever did...

And they weren't afraid of their teachers. They respected them.

Morning, Knotty.

If the rain clouds go away, I will e spending part of the day enjoying nature and be thankful for the beauty that surrounds me.

A picnic at the park and swimming is just the ticket.

YES, Sweet Mom.....................

Each and every day should be the best we can make of it.
We can choose to pick it apart and dwell on the negitive.........
OR...
We can also rejoice in the wonders of every second we have to live..............in which ever way we each choose......

Use each day to honor it and those we are graced to meet within it,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Its been obvious just on this site how terrified some people are of Christianity.
Evidently they are unaware of what transpires each Sunday morning all over the country in our churches.
There are no public stonings,no beaten people that arent followers and everyone that enters any said church isnt interrogated to be certain they arent bad people. All are invited to share faith.
Parents can take there children somewhere they dont have to worry about safety and censoring what they see or hear.
People can share in prayer and request prayer for anything or anyone all over the world.
Sunday, the day of fellowship, rest and reflection make it not only a good Christain day but a good awareness day for all people of any faith.

Terrified?? Well that depends. If you're Jew being tortured by Christians during the Dark Ages, that is true. If you're an American Indian being murdered while your children are taken away that would be true. If you're anyone whom the church didn't like during the Inquisitions that would be true. If you're a black in the wrong neighborhood in the south where KKK Khristians live, that would be true.

But today, its a parody of stupidly worthy of much laugher.

If you are homeless......................seek out a shelter......founded by many of our local church members.

If you have no food for your family...........seek out a food pantry............stocked by donations by our local church members.

If you have a hurting heart............seek out a local church. The doors are always open and hope will be shared.

Again..........there are many negitive things that can be said about how God is "used".

There are also many wonderful things done in His Name also.
There are 2 sides to every story. I choose to not only see the positive..........but to put my hands to work in making it happen.

Thankyou Dixie,I didnt know you and Hunt were a couple.Good for you both.
Terrified??
You would have to ask the OP,it was he whom stated...
If you arent a Christian then you are faced with its spectre.
Since you two both enjoy mocking Christians just like this threads purpose and your not Christian yourself, according to your highly educated friend you are faced with its spectre.
You could say your not but that would be calling the OP a liar.
I believe Hell accepts liars.
