Jun 10 @ 10:13 AM Christianity is a manifestation of pride     Thor1960303 Posts: 1,887 Let's say you're driving downtown or suburban anywhere and you notice that not only do you get hit by every red traffic light in your path,by the time you're 2 minutes from your destination a train crosses the track and you swear it's caboose must be at least three counties away.You feel certain that there are unseen forces that have some kind of conspiracy against you to keep you from arriving at your destination in time.I've actually heard Christians relay these type of experiences in church as reasons why they were late.Then it's sympathetically concluded amongst the rest of the congregation that, "the Devil placed stumbling blocks in your way."If it was mechanical problem with the car,then rest assured it was "the Devil who got in your engine".Yes,folks these things are still being taught in the 21st century. Any shrink worth his salt will tell you that this is a manifestation of pride.Even if a person is not religious,if they experience the scenario of the traffic lights,they will feel certain that there was an unseen conspiracy against them.It's human nature, a manifestation of pride.The person in the situation mentioned above feels that they and their trip across town is so important that unseen entities are going to the trouble of hindering the automotive journey.This is how Christianity works.The believer's pride has convinced them that they are so important,the Creator of the Cosmos and His enemies are going to use their supernatural resources to influence their life and it's outcome. Their problem is more simple. They simply can not do math. They simply can not measure time and distance and so they imagine some time warp occurred and god did it. What about the opposite? You hurry to your appointment and get all the green lights and you're still late? Its the same thing. Folks don't know how to judge time, distance and speed. Its no wonder the only Christian scientists are not really scientists but just another sect. Certainly pride is involved because of their self bloated egos fed by abject stupidity (willful ignorance). Yes, they are stupid Christians spending all their time reading the bible and no time reading an educational textbook on arithmetic, geometry or earth science. Oh no, no earth science for freakos who believe the world was created in 6 days. The problem is stupidity. Christians retain various thousands of career postitions that have and do continue to build our world, you know that! Your just stooping to predjudism on the word and label itself, not on the real world around you. It is not because I have faith that I save lives, but because it is a component in my being that gave me addition to choose my career path verses choosing a different career path. If it weren't for christian ignorance and its opposition to scientific advancements, mankind would not still be experiencing the likes of "heart attacks". Christians have no problems with concepts that remedy medical conditions, but they are affraid of concepts that may eliminate them. They feel that to eliminate them "man" is playing "god". Sick religious dogma has slowed down scientific progress. Just look at the christian reaction to stem cell research! Christianity is a detriment to mankind's future. Peace
