Uab, you are right, they can't believe until they truly know Him, and I, like you, had to find out the hard way. It was NO fun.

Do you know that John Wesley founded the Methodist Church to be a spirit filled church, some of those holy rollers, you spoke of?

My minister said she had never seen even the strongest atheist or unbeliever die who did not cry out, God save me!

You have probably seen more of them than she has, but she has been in the ministry for forty years. Lol, and I don't like seeing people die, so I really don't know. I would imagine that hospice nurses see the most dying. Isn't Angel one of those? I don't know how anyone could do it, I admire anyone who can.

Angel is not a nurse.

I have seen my fair share. I love working with the dying patient....comforting both them and their families.

I want to work hospice some day.

I have

So have I. I've also seen a few atheists shout, "God damn it!" when they stubbed their toe. Who are they talking to? Then there was the dyslexic agnostic insomniac who stayed up all night wondering if there really was a dog.

Thor,

If you've actually seen the bantha poo doo that come across as building code in the U.S. then comparr it to the work done in Cost Rica that I witnessed, you'd realise that building construction is just as abitrary as believe in God.

Belief in a bunch of egghead PhD do reissue code books every four years that are miles different in breath from one another and hope your building will stand is still belief.

At least the Holy Bible hasn't changed content in what 1900 years. The only changes it has faced are the various lingual interpretatations and of of course the interpretatation of the readers.

I shit you not that I tell you the changes I've witnessed in building codes over the last eleven years.

For my previous (and hope last) structural engineering employer, the Southern Company, I was tasked to design 'simple' ducts for coal power plants. We were inputing length into our design program to the nearest 0.01', wind load was entered to the nearest 0.01 pound, and the theing was being fabricated to the nearest 1/2".

Wind load calcs are a best guess. No one knows exactly how wing will 'really' act. IMHO it's worthless to use that kind of accuacy even if one has the power.

Screw 'em. I'm done with that shit.

There's nothing objective or special about engineering. It took me eleven years to figure that out.

It's all SWAG.

So to say 'there's a God' is just as objective to say your home will stand 130mph hurricane wind.

No one knows.

Sad, so sad. Most every Christian I know KNOWS there is God, has seen Him in action, know He answers their prayers, has seen and known His power.

Now guys prove there is NO God.

Ok, I can take this. Pray for a cure for cancer. for the entire world. Easy for god to do, and it is not praying amiss. It's prayng for the betterment of mankind.

If you pray in god's name, he answers them. says so in the Bible.

You're better off praying to a jug of milk.

AND...in a debate, it would be YOU who must prove the EXISTENCE of god.

GO for it, I dare you.....

By the way, if you want the true interpretation of the Bible, the Holy Spirit will lead you into all truth, and it is amazing. Jesus said the that the wisest men in the world could read the Bible and not understand it. That is the truth, once you get the Spirit baptism, you will be reading the Bible and a passage that you have read for years will suddenly become clear to you and take on a meaning that you never saw. It is like a light being turned on. I have thought, "Wow, that is so simple, why couldn't I see that before?"

I used to think that the Bible was subject to many interpretations, but now I know that there is only one interpretation and it is awesome, but I don't depend on myself or my understanding to get it. It is beyond human understanding and wisdom, it has to be brought to you supernaturally through the Holy Spirit, and who better to do it? He wrote it, you know.

Actually it was written by those who's hand and thoughts were guided by the "Holy Spirit".

But this is reality, and not a simple debate, goose. I have seen Him heal incurable cancer, ones that the doctors couldn't touch, could do nothing about. I have seen a woman who was going to loose one of her kidneys prayed for that she would be left with two kidneys and when they went in to operate, they found THREE kidneys, she was left with two, just as she had asked. I have seen cysts and tumors disappear. I have seen the lame walk. I have seen bIind eyes made to see, the deaf begin to hear. I have had many, many personal miracles, many answers to prayers. The list could go on for hours. So, see, I KNOW that He is real, now it is up to you to try to prove to me that He is not. Don't say it is faith or psychological, unbelievers receive healings and become Christians because they realize that He is real.

that doesn't make him real, bev. Sorry. There are systems and processes on the Human body that no one understands yet. Spontaneous curing of cancer does not make god any more real than Unicorn.

Gray so they say, but all writers (especially those who wrote of Jesus) weren't even there to witness anything. so how accurate could they be? If at all?

And too many books that were written were ommitted because they were too questioning of Christianity's standards.

You should check out the lost books of the bible. It's really an interesting read. I liked the Gospel according to Judas. Most of the books paint Jesus as way more human than the Bible.

Why do you suppose they were ommitted at Nicea?
