Personally, I hope to retire in Costa Rica as a missionary.
I had a buddy that went there to surf about twice a year there. I don't have a whole lot of interest in tropical places to live anymore. I grew up in Florida and covered hurricanes as a TV news cameraman. Not enamored by it. Now a nice mix with mountains and water, I'm all about that. I'm not comfortable in temperatures above 80 F anymore. I'm a happy camper between 65 and 70F. When I get to hell, I'm just gonna have to assassinate Satan,take over the place and turn it into a giant fridge instead of an oven. The Eskimos will just have to cope. There is a story about missionaries telling of the fires of hell to the Eskimos. To them, it sounded like a great place and they eagerly asked of the missionaries, "How do we get there?"
I do like the missionary position though.

The were left out because they took away from the mysticism of Jesus that those compiling the Bible want to portray.

Okay, I will give you a large part of the reason. The gnostic writings were not found until 1945k they cannot be validated. Like most of the books that were left out of the Bible, they are in conflict with the scriptures. Any books that were put into the New Testament had to contain reference to or direct quotes from the Old testament.

No one wrote of Jesus while he was alive.

All the books were there, Constantine and the council of nicea made sure they had what they wanted in the "good book."
Constantine Commissioned and financed the new Bible. Anyone who chose the forbidden gospels over Constantine's version was deemed a heretic.
That was around 325 AD....not 1945.

Serapion of Antioch (a bishop from 190 to 211) read the Gospel of Peter in church.

I just completed a ten day mission trip to Costa Rica last month.
And yes, the Lord made me do it!
