As Christians, this is what the Lord does in our lives, He moves us from joy to joy from wonder to wonder. What a beautiful, amazing, wondrous life that makes. Daily, He moves in my life in ways that never cease to amaze me. It is true, our God is an awesome God. He reveals Himself to us in so many ways, over and over and over. His presence and love move through our lives and enhance them and beautify them. How could anyone not want that?

I think all of us have given you examples, why add fuel to your fire by giving you more, you just want to scoff some more. Suffice it to say, it is the truth. I stand amazed at the way He moves in my life daily.

You started a thread and no examples? Why do a thread then? No point without examples?

Suffice it to say, it is the truth. I stand amazed at the way He moves in my life daily. Over three years of posts like this without substantiating any of them.

You would never understand, hammer. Oh I understand plenty. I understand you make statements that apply to the Twilight Zone and that you have many hallucinations but are those what you call The Wonder of God? Is that a spinoff twist on Alice in Wonderland?

Why does one have to be a Christian to feel that same joy and wonder, and gratitude?
Specific examples -
I drive into work every day through a valley, seeing the sun rise over the mountains and it (nearly) never fails to make me feel glad to be alive and grateful to be where I am.
I have a couple of 16 year old cats who are still pretty spry, considering they were in and outside cats in NYC for 12 of those years...one of them had a stroke a couple of months ago but he obviously still has a few lives left - rubbing noses with him makes me grateful that he's tough enough to still be around, at least for a little while longer.
Sitting out on my patio, looking out over my little oasis - seeing the fruits go from blossoms to tiny little green 'peas' to green and yellow, etc. till they turn ripe around Christmas. Normal, nature, but still wondrous to me...the hummingbirds and butterflies flitting around, and the cactus wrens squabbling. Oh, and my 'bonsai' below - it's about 5 feet tall, if that:

No matter who or what has blessed me, I'm grateful. But I'm still not a Christian.

Yes, heaven, you bonsai is gorgeous. I don't have a green thumb, not one of my blessings, if I try to grow it, it doesn't do well. Now I have an abundance of wild grapes, mustang grapes around at the back of my house and wild blackberries in season galore. It kind of reminds me of what He has taught me, to let go and let Him, He does it better, to quit relying on myself and my brown thumb.

Heaven, those certainly sound like joys to me. While I'm certainly no expert in the field, I can relate. I don't think I'd embrace the idea that a person not a Christian could never experience authentic joy. And your testimony clearly refutes such a notion. I'd be more partial to the idea that one who follow's Christ's philosophies, might be a little more prone to feel the joy He often speaks of.
But I believe that by definition, true joy is available to anyone.
I also believe however, that through ridding oneself of the often-weighty issue of one's eternal destination, the Christian has freed-up much spiritual space. (By virtue of already being in possession of Eternal Life.)
Such space is often set aside by Christians as a place to harbour joyful thoughts.
By no means is joy exclusive to Christians though. IMHO

SOC,
I also believe however, that through ridding oneself of the often-weighty issue of one's eternal destination, the Christian has freed-up much spiritual space. (By virtue of being in possession of Eternal Life.) You are full of yourself! How can you be sure of "being in possession of eternal life? Nothing is written in stone and unless you know exactly what god does, there is no certainly. If you really believe their is a certainty, you are full of yourself and do not in any way follow Jesus' teachings.
Peace

Puke...I said I don't think I'd embrace such a belief.
I agree with you. That would be a sad belief system.
