Dreams have shown to be a good tool for therapists to attempt to treat certain disorders. They can reveal things about your subconscious that a therapist can possibly use to help folks suffering from sleep disorders, post traumatic stress and other issues.
One article I read said that some therapists were using lucid dreaming techniques to help some patients who suffered sleep disorders associated with recurring nightmares.

Certainly.
When unexplainable events occur in our dreams,they are for a reason.
I can remember my dad telling us about the time my mom came down to the barn during his morning milking to tell him his brother had just called and his mom had passed away that night.My mom seldom ever went down to the barn and before she could speak he told her he knew what she was there for.
He had a dream that same evening that his brother had told him that ma died.
She wasnt ill and 70 years old.
Because of the severe head trauma in a truck accident I had years ago I asked my neurosurgeon why I never dreamed anymore,he said I probaly do only its not remembered when I wake up.
The first dream I had that I did remember was about a week after my pa died.In that dream he had stayed overnight in my bed and told me that since I'm not poor get yourself a new bed because yours...that I got from my grandmother after she passed away,was shot and needed a new mattress.
The next morning my mother called to ask me if I wanted the queen bed in her guest room.She wanted that room for something else and the new bed in it was never being used anyway.

That is a good one, Jankia, I love it.
I believe that dreams can be lots of things. They can be our bodies telling us that we are ill. I have had that happen, I still look back on it and wonder. I had been terribly ill for a long time, in such tremendous pain that I knew I had to be dying. My right side hurt so bad that I had to hold it when I walked. I prayed all the time asking God not to let me die, that I had three little children that no one could love or take care of like I could. One night as I slept, I dreamt I was put into a swing and I heard, "You have tuberculosis, or female trouble. You have to get to a doctor or you are going to die." Now, I knew I didn't have tuberculosis, didn't know about the female thing, but when I did get to the doctor, my right ovary was completely severed from the tube, was dripping blood and I had a blood clot in my right side the size of a grapefruit. My doctor was amazed, had never seen anything like it, he said. Women generally hemorrhage to death from just a tiny tear in an ovarian tube that isn't treated. I had been ill for six months. I have told about my illness before but never about that dream.

Puke, you have no reason to feel sorry for me. I feel sorry for you that you have to relay your sexual escapades online, it smacks a little of exhibitionism.

imho.. dreams ( while one sleeps ..) are from within... it's just the subconscious working out what the conscious has issues with.. nothing more.. nothing less
but visions are from somewhere else altogether .....

Where did you get the idea that I am or was a sex therapist. I have to know about sex in order to help people, but I am definitely no sex therapist.
You think what you will. I DON'T want to know any of your details. What you do with goose or anyone else should be strictly between the two of you. I hope it has been good for you.
Personally, I cannot imagine how a sexual liason that was planned to be just that with someone I had never met in person could be fulfilling or rewarding, just another encounter. I prefer making love with someone I care about, and only after I get to the point where I do care, and know them, but you do your own thing.
For my part, I think sexual encounters are a dime a dozen, anyone can have them, I, like most women on here, I am sure, get offers for those everyday.

Felice, people shouldn't present themselves as something they aren't, you know.
By the way, goose, I love to laugh, I am happy all the time, never sad nor depressed. I have a very full life. It is nice to be able to be home on a Saturday night.

I don't claim to be a prophet, dude, I am not called to be that often.
Here is something for you doubters to try. Before you go to sleep tonight, say something like, "God, if you are real, reveal yourself to me in my dreams tonight, please and please make sure I remember that dream in the morning."
Try it. You see when you are not in control of your thinking processes, it is much easier for Him to come through to you.
