Yes, the kingdom of God was within them, they were JEWS, God's people.
The gentiles, most of us are gentiles, were thought of as uncrazy's dogs. Jesus had to die and us receive him for US to have that kingdom within us.

Yes we have to receive Jesus to find that kingdom. It is probably always there but in our daily state of mind we dont experience it because as you said we have thoughts and emotions of this and that. Meditation, dream Yoga etc is a way to replace such low thoughts and emotions with something else. Did Jesus say: Empty thyself and I shall fill thee? I just read it but have no idea where it can be found in the Bible.
I really think Christianity, Buddhism and others agree. At least a little below the surface.

Surely you can look at yourself and see your impurities, which are no better than our filthy rags, you know., but YOU don't have Jesus, HE was pure for us.
I will never understand how a religion/philosophy that espouses such self loathing and self denial can be anything but psychologically unhealthy. But then what do I know? I'm not a psychologist like Bev.

RRRight, I don't know of the empty yourself scripture. I do know that when you receive that baptism it is a total immersion, saturation of His Spirit. He circumcises your heart. You open up to His kingdom and Lordship and it fills you. Satan is the god of this world, and until you receive the Lord, he is on the throne. Self is the center of Satan's kingdom. So, those who search themselves for enlightenment without that infilling of the Holy Spirit are not finding the Lord, simply a counterfeit. Satan is the great deceiver, you know, he does that well.
I know this sounds extreme and radical, but I had to learn all this the hard way and If I can keep ONE person from having to learn the way I did, then all the stuff they throw at me in here is worth it. That has always been my prayer, that I can keep others from having to learn like that, the way I did.

Seems to me that if you're right and all this god & the devil stuff is true, then this Satan dude is one potent adversary for your god...down here, it kind of looks like it's a pretty even game these days. A dead heat. As Pacino said in The Devils Advocate..."Can anyone deny the last hundred years have been mine?"
Maybe the thing to do is not commit to one or the other till it's all over with, then try to convince whoever wins you've been backing him all along!!
