Here in the forums I shall debate anything as i so wish and in what ever style i so wish if given the powers by the courtesy of MD. And, by my own conscious endeavours to deabte a topic, concept, idea.... blah... blah... blah....

BUT, what I do find annoying as a mosquito buzzing a bulls backside is the insidious nature of Christianity as applied by some people here and many i find in every day life.

These people need to live their own lives within their own boundaries away from others and not impose it on us and know that what they do isnt right for the rest of the world.
Yet, again, cars pull up in our nice new street, (new housing development) as I sat working in my garage. Immediately, I laughed as these "dressed like executive" men get out of the car with party frock wives on their arms and children so obediently follow behind carrying satchels with all their paraphernalia required.
I thought to myself, they are going to walk up my drive with big smiles and say 'hi".... blah... blah.... blah.... how shall I respond today?

Be a smart arse? Be a good natured, loving buddhist? Be a biblical scholar? Or, just damned annoyed and tell them to F. OFF! What shall it be today? Okay, I thought, be kind despite my sense of humour!

Okay, here they come!!!!!

They started saying something but I couldnt hear them.... classical music too loud as i worked! Turned it down and said "hi". Listened and chose to be a Biblical Scholar. I gave them a lecture for about half an hour. They said they enjoyed and would like to come back!!! Oh chit I cried!

Do you want to know the one about the little six year old child who just had major leg surgery? He required this to be able to walk for the first time in his life but guess what???? The friggin nutcases wanted him to go to church and be prayed upon to make him walk!!!!!
I spoke with his mom and said lets get him to hospital and get it sorted out. That happened and it has been a major success.

Could go on about the insidious nature of Christianity but spare you.... I'm trying to be kind to you all within the little time frames I have to post here.

Please, these religious nutcases stop walking up my garden path! Stop telling me how I need god, stop telling me how to lead my life, STOP TELLING ME YOUR RELIGION IS GREAT!!!!!

It is a nightmare of mans evil since time!

I feel Christianity is a good thing, when handled correctly.

I don't like cramming of ANY style...l.I believe in God, Jesus His Son...I also feel religion is a very personal thing, because if it is JUST taught, and doesn't come from within....it won't hold water.

I think Christianity can demonstrate aspects of the best in humanity.

16knots,

I think Christianity can demonstrate aspects of the best in humanity.

I too believe this, but the holy books also have all the justification needed to wreck the world in God's name.

Discernment is a tricky skill

Very true uncrazy. One only has to look at the skill of "awareness" in others (and oneself of course) to see where problems lay.

I am tolerate of all religions and walks of life.

However, I am not tolerate of those who beat me over the head with the Bible and try to cram their form of religion down my throat.

What makes anyone think I am going to change my way of thinking by a few words from them when I've spent a long time researching and studying to come to the point I am in life?

The same goes for me. My beliefs have not changed in the many years I have been here. I do however love to know more about what others belive and think.
I do not like to see people that think they know what you should be believing posting and shoving it at you.
