I have not been on the forums nearly as long as some of you regulars..what religion are you..if you are a christian, what denomination do you prefer? I am not asking in order to judge...I am analytical to a point . As for other religions than christianity, I dont know if they have denominations, feel free to fill me in on this. Happy typing

Raised Catholic. Dabbled with a few others.
Read alot of books. Did a bunch of research. Came to my own conclusions.
I'm Athiest to the core.
I thnk you may be the first person to actually genuinely ask.

You don't want to know
BUT, I am very open minded about pretty much everything. And, as you have seen, I can see the humor in just about everything.
To every man is a path they must follow. Either by their own choice or by guidance. Let their blessings for this journey be openmindness and acceptance in all things. ML 2008

Ooooo, you've opened up a can of worms, lol.
What I've learned these past few years is that most poeple who have always considered themselves "Christians" apparently aren't (they are "lukewarm Christians" or "baby Christians" at the most)...because you have to receive the Holy Spirit through the Baptism of Fire to be allowed to call yourself "Christian".
Since I'd never heard that kind of "saved" and "Jesus-Jesus-Jesus" stuff until I got online, I figured all my lifelong friends and family are going to hell anyway -- being "unsaved" -- I might as well completely distance myself from any sort of religion. I'd definitely never consider myself "Christian" if all that mumbo-jumbo is the qualification...because I'm not a hypocrite: that goes against my apparently heathenistic standards and values.

You could start with Pagan Origins of the Christ Myth
Interesting read even if you are firm in your beliefs.

Born and reared Catholic.
Family switched to Lutheran around age 12.
Never could get myself to believe in christian dogma.
Believe in Jesus' teachings with dogma removed.
Could care less if there was really a historic Jesus, his philosophy and teachings are the important things. Do not consider Jesus as a man/god but a master.
I believe that Jesus or his creator (of the myth) were Jewish with strong Buddhist ties. (I am not a Buddhist).
I consider myself a spiritual follower of Jesus' Way.
Peace

UMMMMM...What scripture do you base that one on? I am allowed to call myself "Christian" because I am a Christian, being "baptised in the spirit of fire has nothing to do with calling yourself a Christian. If so then where are the scriptures for it and where does the Bible call anyone a baby christian..lukewarm I have read, never baby...that is one of those offensive terms that will get ya nowhere. Also, you contradicted yourself in that " most poeple who have always considered themselves "Christians" apparently aren't (they are "lukewarm Christians" or "baby Christians" at the most)" I don't like that term "baby christian"...and you imply that one Christian is superior to another which is bs "For we all come short of the glory of God" as the Bible says

lol Knots, I like to be called "baby" by someone special but to me..calling someone a "baby christian" is ridiculous! Is there a meter or gauge used to measure this? Seems like an immature attempt to try and make someone feel lesser than yourself to me;;;jmo

Oh, I'd never refer to someone as a "baby Christian". I think it's rude and utterly condescending. And all that I mentioned was what I've learned from the so-called (or self-appointed) "true" Christians here.

Bama, you have much to learn.
I always laugh when someone new comes into the threads and start laying down their views. It doesnt take long for them to be ripped up! If they have the gumption they stay around and if not they whine off somewhere else.
It is like anything in life....... a slight learning curve is required.
When the game is played many nuiances come to light. Not everything is as it seems.

You'll soon learn that people like me are apparently "minions of Satan" (quote/unquote) and purveyors of evil because we don't subscribe to the rigid party line.

I was born and 'Christened' in to the Church of England, (Henry the 8th's creation).. over the years Ive been in the company of mormons, Muslims, Catholics, Buddists and Lutherans..
I really dont have a pulling towards any of them.. but I dont condemn people for what they want to believe either as long as they respect my thoughts too.
