I thought this might be interesting to discuss.
Spirit filled Christians know we have power over evil spirits when they inhabit a person and they can. We simply cast them out in Jesus name like the Bible says to do. It is not an exorcism, doesn't take days, that nasty old devil can't do things like you see in the movies because we don't let him do that stuff. Now, I am not saying that he is not able to do those things, because he is.
Now, Catholics do exorcisms, they are a ritual and because most Catholic priests don't have that baptism of the Holy Spirit, they cast them out by repititions. I have talked to Catholic priests about this and they have told me that they don't like to do exorcisms because they have seen too many get possessed by those demons they are trying to cast out. It can take days for them to cast one out. If a person is being opressed or tormented by an evil spirit, and that happens, too, guys, the Catholic priest I talked to about that said that they prefer to send that person to a monastary, and He said the only one he knew of that dealt with that was in Switzerland. It said it can take months for people to come free of that torment.
You see, for a deliverance, all you need is the Holy Spirit, the power of the Lord. I am not saying that strange voices don't come out of people or that they don't writhe or protest. I am saying that it is over in a matter of minutes, and an hour at the most. Not days, not weeks and Spirit filled people DON'T get possessed by those spirits because they fear us. It is the same when someone is being tormented, we come against them in the name of the Lord and they flee.
Exorcisms are real, those things do happen, that movie, the Exorcist was based on true facts.
Guys, that all started with a ouija board. Don't open yourself up that way.
Now, most beliefs have one form of exorcism or deliverance. I am sure that knots or someone could fill us in on those.
The American Indians have medicine men that do that still. I don't know much about those either. I would love a post from anyone who knows about that.

She needs a life but not just her. They seem to dwell on the fantasy of death more than life itself. They dwell on a life after death and so it does nothing but rob this life in all its reality.
I think real mental health care is the ONLY way for their salvation. Perhaps therapy, rational emotive therapy is very good. cognitive therapy is also very good. SOC can get it for free in Canada. Bev might need help from her family to pitch in.

Thor, I don't have to, I have done deliverance work. I have seen it. This stuff is real, guys.
I gave you a link that has other links, one to a national geograpic filming of an exorcism.
Once you see that this kind of evil exists, then I wonder if you can realize that God exists, too, Jesus.
I can't watch them on this old laptop, so you guys watch them and tell me if they are good or not.

Bev I have seen many people who have head traumas and people with strokes act like they were possessed. One need only to walk down skid rows everywhere around the USA to see more.
In fact when a person speaks in tongues they appear to be possessed.....
