In these R and S forums?
To teach?
To learn?

Merely entertain?

I enjoy reading all aspects of life and faith.

For the beer?

Learning is one of life's greatest joys for me. And, believe it or not, the days I'm willing to wade through all the crap here I often find something new to consider. Could be better though, but we've already been through that.

To exchange knowledge.

If I wasn't posting in R&S, I may never been exposed to Bishop Spong's type of christianity. Not that I agree with everything he says, but I think that his concepts should receive as much credibility as any other form of christianity.

Many of his concepts have just strenghtened mine, others answered outstanding questions I had, and still others I decided didn't agree with the path I'm on.

My beliefs are unique and work for me. I would never tell anyone that my way is the only way. Everyone must find a path that is right for them.

I will post against anyone that preaches their way is the only way or whose dogma doesn't teach love and peace for all mankind. I do this not for arguments sake, but to present alternatives that other searches may look into.

Peace

I just like reading other's points of views. I may find a nugget or two of good solid wisdom buried in these heaps of rubble.

Drop that lime into a mojito or CubaLibra and I'll stick around just for the "points-of-view"

...and I'm here right now, procrastinating, because I need to mow my yard. The novelty of yardwork has worn off and now I'm afraid that the maintenence is a chore.

PS "The Powers Above" have provided me with a wonderful (though not-quite-legal) couple who will work hard for their/my money, but being the martyre I am, I still tend to fall back on the old-fashioned practice of "self-reliance"...and do it myself.

I don't post much on here, I mainly observe. I'm glad that people open up and reveal the type of religious upbringing they had. It makes me really happy that my parents were so liberal as far as religious beliefs. We went to church & for religious instructions... but no one was ever forced.

Thanks Lor, it's always worked best for me to make my own decisions.
We live across the street from our school/church and there are times my kids just don't feel like going...I don't push them.
Same goes with my friends, even if they are not religious I occasionally invite them to special holiday ceremonies or get togethers at church, not to "push" anything on them, but just to enjoy a nice spiritual time.
