perhaps if i talk s l o w. perhaps if i use small monosyllabalic (oops dang it) words? Pam has presented the very point i made! ocassionally i present (at least to me) very valid POVs concerning the "christian" bible. to my dismay and frustration the troop avoids my point and rushes over to the latest holyroller writhing and foaming at the mouth. i used a bit of reverse psychology in a vain effort to garner attention to true christianity. my bible says that there was not actually a "speaking" in tongues but rather a hearing in tongues. every person there understood in their own language, not one individual was unable to understand and had need of the proverbial interpeter. my bible says that every language of the world was represented there. the laying on of hands? yes you and we are supposed to lay our hands upon any millstone that burdens our brother. the pseudos adulterate the holy word and lead the simians to beleive that these "gifts" are completely spiritual. thats a lie, a deception. all the gifts, spiritual and physical are to be used to lift up our christian family. look about you, judge the pseudochristians by the very value they will be judged by in heaven, their works. who in your circle gets dirt upon their hands in an effort to lift up their kin? "he is my mother, my brother and my sister", every person in this forum should know that words do not put righteous food upon our table, only works. the rules and guidelines of my christianity are fairly simple and not hidden as well as many think. "as you would have others do unto you, do unto them also". what is confusing about that verse? what if the "good samaratain" had layed hands upon the jew and spoke in an unknow tongue? of course you know what the results would have been. i ask one thing of each of you, go to my bible and find out what "pure religion" is and make even a small effort to make that pure religion a fact in your life. perhaps that day will be the first day in your religious life. selah.

Now, the interpretation of tongues is a supernatural gift of the Holy Spirit, true, so, in that case, the hearing would be a gift, too, but would make the speaking in tongues no less of a gift.
Jerry, Jesus himself said:
Mark 16:15-17 He [Jesus] said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues.

Paul, as far as I am concerned, was the first pseudo chriistian. He bastardized christian doctrine.
