This reminds me of a friend of mine who's dad was a schizophrenic. He made tapes of various prayers and chants which he believed, warded off demons who were responsible for everything from disease to war.
He even made a special tape for the president and sent it to the White House along with a letter assuring the president that the solution to the country's problems was to play those tapes and repeat the chants and prayers.
