Of course this is the flip side of Near Death and out of body experiences.

One that is reality based, not conceptually based.

In the Metaphysical world as seen on here over time there is a myriad of differing In body experiences and near life experiences.

A near life experience is a concept of life that you bought into not necessarily a real truth but a concept.

What concepts have you bought into over your life time and just how did you throw them away when and if you changed and viewed things via a new concept.

All of that is a In body experience....

I think that I was born to question and to doubt. Last night, my wife asked me about what I grew up with and why I didn't embrace the religion that I was taught. I told her that all my life I was a closet non theist. In my youth, I was afraid to make it public because every time I questioned something, it was either quickly hushed up, viewed as unimportant and I always got a sermon with it. So I tried to believe, really gave it my best shot, but it just wouldn't work on me. I have one of those always thinking brains that is always questioning, always stepping back and looking at the big picture. I could never shut that off no matter how hard I tried,.

I brought doubt and questioning into my life time and never lost it.

The exact same thing happened to me. When I was 12 the preacher did a sermon about other heathen belief system and all those he spoke about were my best friends. He spoke about other countries also.

After church was over he of course was standing at the door shaking hands and I asked him have you traveled the world a lot where have you traveled too. His reply well I once went to Sacramento which was only 100 miles away. I said oh bit my lip and understood he did not know what the hell he was talking about.

I once went to a "special" Sunday school class that was supposed to be taught by a "scientist" who could "prove evolution wrong". I asked him about his education and credentials and they were all from theological seminary schools. Iasked him about his field work as well and he looked at me funny.

I was sent to a methodist church until I was old enough to make my own decision to return or never go again. The last pastor that was in the church "cured" me of ever wanting to go back. The sunday sermons were just ramblings, too many people in the church were hypocrites (and I figured all this out by age 10)
I had too many questions that no one could/would answer.
When my sis died 7 years ago, I had a couple of personal experiences that changed how I thought of dying and what happens afterwards completely.
I don't particularly follow the word of the bible literally, but I believe still in "heaven" only for lack of a better term. But I don't believe in "hell"
It wasn't difficult for me to "shed" the methodist upbringing at all only because I was so disillusioned with the whole "church" thing anyway.
I'm to a point now in my life where I am comfortable with my way of thinking, not afraid of death, only the manner in which I may die lol.
A kick in the gut can make you do some serious thinking sometimes

good thread

It seems to me "what works for you, works for you and all of us" in that if your happy it helps us to be happy.
