A world without God. What would that be like?

In a world without God we all go around murdering people we don’t like. We don’t do that now because lets face it, the Bible says not to kill so we don’t. Without God we would rape, steal from others and kill ourselves when we get tired of living. With God none of those things would happen. Aren’t we lucky there is a God?

If there was no God there would be no missionaries helping tsunami and earthquake victims and then no reason to convert a survivor right after their whole family has been wiped out. There would be no one helping anyone at all because there would be no afterlife that rewarded us for being good. Instead we would just read the news and then change the channel to watch the game.

None of us would pray for all the miracles we see happening all the time now. Without God, people would die from cancer, heart failure, obesity, AIDS, accidents and so many other causes and diseases. Not like it is now. Say a prayer, poof, they're instantly healed. Thank God!!

Without God natural disasters wouldn’t be averted either. I mean, if you’re a God fearing God loving worshiper, you have a far better chance of surviving any natural disaster or ingesting any poison. Gosh Gee, even the bible tells you that! Without God, you would stand an equal chance of being a victim of random events as those non-believing heathens. What kind of world would that be?

If there was no God then believers wouldn’t have anything to believe in and wouldn’t need to prove their beliefs to people who wouldn’t believe them anyway. Wouldn’t that be a very sad scenario? Not like it is now where every believer has nothing to prove and knows it.

If there were no God we would not see any prayer threads asking God to safely return all those missing children. Thankfully this is not the case which is why all those missing children safely come back home.

It there was no God we would have no answers we can be absolutely certain of. Without God we wouldn’t know anything at all. We would never know the world was created in just a few days, that man was made from mud or farm animals and our pets were able to speak English or any other human language. Without God we would only see animals speak in cartoons. We wouldn't even have a clue there were invisible demons all around us tempting us to do evil. We wouldn't know about a special invisible friend fighting off all that evil behind the scenes while we live our daily lives. That just goes to show you how really lost we would be.

If there was no God we would simply starve to death. Nothing would grow and there would be no air to breath. We would have to struggle and die anyway.

Now think about. Isn’t the world a much better place with God in it?

Gaining rewards is not the chief reason for most people to be kind, considerate, thoughtful, and just plain good to others.

But how could you have any idea what I'm talking about.

Behaving any of those ways just feels good.

(You might be advised to abandon this thread hammertime. It's a loser--for you.)

Gaining rewards is all of what its about. Who want's to go to hell and suffer eternal torment from Satan himself?

As I said above. Without God there would be nothing but suffering, natural disasters, lost children. With God there would be none of that. Isn't that so obvious? I mean, with God you can hear him talk to you, have conversations with dogs, cats, asses. Pray for healing and save people all over the world. Isn't it much better having absolute certainty as you do?

Actually hammertime, by your lifestyle, attitude and your general demeanour you prove that you've got no more than a very foggy notion of my point.

Being nice is not about receiving anything.

We have already received.

Being kind, charitable, thoughtful, considerate and humble should be all about demonstrating love. Because He loved us first.

(Another concept you will be unable to understand. )

Salvation is a reward. Damnation is a punishment.

Yes, what you say is true. I am glad that you understand that much.

But that is only the starting point. The understanding that follows that primary information is a little more important.

Important for those who wish to avoid the one + enjoy the other.

The reward has already been provided for us. Very little is required to enjoy it.

The punishment has also already been established. By virtue of the same small effort on our behalf, the reward can be enjoyed eternally, and the punishment avoided for the same length of timne.

You might be so suspicious about this because you're unable to conceive of how it is possible to receive so great a reward at such little expense to yourself.

This is the grace of God.

That is an interesting way of wording it, the second time. Not the first time.

Much better the second time around!

I think where your system breaks down is where you forget the sctality(sp/wc) of religion today and that almost every religion, while sharing a core beliefe system, is fundamentaly different in their views and expressions of both the present and after lifes.

So old vs new. Pagan vs Creation. Really, I don't see any clearer answer to that question to to go up and ask someone who does not believe in God what their world is like. That is as complex as it is.

What YOU believe is true for YOU. Don't forget what YOU believe got many many many people killed, even though it was just a beliefe in peace and harmony with no malice or nagative intent or action. It picked that up along the way with momentum, like extra dirt in the wind.

John Lennon wrote a song about such a world without God, Heaven, Hell or religion. It's a nice world to imagine in my opinion.

hmmm, a world without God. question! my God or your god? logic implies the most of the world is without my God, so to speak. although contrary to popular belief my God is. oops! i threw ya a curve ball. don't worry, my teacher threw ya a zillion curveballs. to simplify, very few simians recognize my God even when they are breathing in and out. that is my God. we be jammin

Hmm. I suspect a world without God would be like a life without God. I know what that used to be like. No thanks.

Not on your life would I want to be there again.

A world without the Concept of God has not been possible in the history of human kind. That is the truth.

But as Iam has often said which of the 3,000 plus Gods do you speak of is any God conceptually lesser than any other God, NO only in your Conception of your own God within your own mind.

In general human kind is benevolent starting with their immediate families. How benevolent to others depends on the attitude of others and how they treat them back.

One does not require a God to be benevolent that is simply human nature.

Absolutely. Its much better when you can be absolutely certain you are right and everyone else is wrong. To no longer depend on logic and reasoning is salvation. You can converse with any animal using English. Pray for rain or to heal a brain tumor or just for fun, walk on a lake. Lets face it. As I said before, you have nothing to prove and isn't that a blessing when no proof is necessary but the belief itself and impossible to prove anyway? God solves those kinds of picayune problems.

It would be like a world without life if a world even existed without God.
