I asked a pastor if he would like to join us on MD for the purpose of answering questions. I told him I am a recent atheist and he wrote me back and stated he couldn't join MD but would try to answer my questions by email. He seems especially interested in why I chose atheism over christianity.
I just mailed him 5 questions and wondered if anyone else had any questions they would like me to email him. I'll post his answers when I receive them to the questions I asked.

Ask him for a name or names of any writers who was a witness of Jesus in person He'll probably say Matthew, Mark, Luke and John plus Mary Magdelen, Paul and the 500 zombies that came out of the grave. I'll ask him if any historians beside Tacticus and Josephus wrote of him. That's a good question, Iam.

Well, pastors aren't one-size fits all. What denomination is this pastor? Is he literally a pastor or does he have some additional academic duties? What is his academic background?

That's a good question, Iam. I don't care what he says but he needs to qualify that a writer was also a witness. We know Josephus had forgery entries and Tacitus writings In 117 CE never mentions Jesus by name but refers to a Christian sect being persecuted in Rome
What I want is a writer who was an actual witness of Jesus. Be clear when you ask him this and then watch him squirm.

Ask him the Reverse Pascal's Wager: Is it evil to "spread the word" if the rejection of the message leads to damnation? If a small percentage convert (and I mean REALLY convert, not just become "social Christians"), then everyone who doesn't take the message into their hearts goes to Hell.
But all those who haven't heard the message, can't be damned for what they didn't know.
If that's not true, then all those people who were NOT told of the message from the 30s AD to now were damned because of lazy Christians.

Well, pastors aren't one-size fits all. What denomination is this pastor? Is he literally a pastor or does he have some additional academic duties? What is his academic background? I asked on another thread if there was a pastor on MD who could answer our questions. But, not the usual run of the mill questions, but the questions about whether Jesus actually lived, how do we know the bible is truly gods word, what about all the other virgin birth, resurrection, walking on water accounts of other gods.
I wrote to preachers from every major denomination and only one wrote me back. He seems like a nice enough man and now that he and I have time to communicate, I thought I'd ask if anyone else has questions for him.
There are a couple of clergy people here already Other than Ana. I don't know of anyone who is a pastor. Ana. doesn't answer questions I ask, so he's out.

What I want is a writer who was an actual witness of Jesus. Be clear when you ask him this and then watch him squirm. And that is what you are all about. Yet your faith is shallow and void of any substance what so ever. Your belief will be your undoing.

I do not answer all questions that Deborah asks because her questions come from a biased, bigoted, raging, deceitful, and crafty intent.
Find your shill of a pastor and continue this sham of a question/answer session if you must. But don't expect me to be led around by the nose like the rest of the unthinking herd, you brood of vipers.

Does anyone have any questions for the Good Pastor?
JOHN 10 - THE PARABOLA OF THE GOOD PASTOR
“Amen, amen, I say to you, one who does not enter the Sheepfold by the Gate, but climbs up some other way, the same is a Thief and a Rustler. But one who enters by the Gate is the Pastor of the Sheep. To Him alone the Gatekeeper will open, and the Sheep will hearken to His Voice alone; and he calls His own Sheep by name and leads them out. And after he has called out His own Sheep, he begins walking before them; and the Sheep follow Him, for they recognize His Voice alone.
Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the Voice of strangers.”
Jesus spoke this Parabola, but they did not recognize the things which He spoke to them.
Then Jesus said to them again, “Amen, amen, I say to you, I am the Gate for the Sheep.
All who ever came to the Sheepfold before Me are Thieves and Rustlers, but the Sheep never hearkened to them.
I am the Gate. If anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find Pastures.
A Thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. But I have come that they may have Life, and that they may have it to the full.
I am the Good Pastor. A Good Pastor gives His Life for His Sheep.
But a hiredhand, he who is not the Pastor and one who does not own the Sheep, sees the Wolf coming and forsakes the Sheep and flees; then the Wolf catches the Sheep and scatters them abroad.
The hiredhand flees because he is a hiredhand and has no care for the Sheep.
I am the Good Pastor; and I know My Sheep, and my Sheep know Me.
As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My Life for the Sheep.
And other Sheep I have which are not of this Sheepfold; them also I must call out, and they will heaken to My Voice; and then there will only be One Flock with One Pastor.

Why does there have to be only one true religion?

There is only one true religion because there is only one universe, One True God of that Universe and one mankind made in the image of that True God of that one universe.

Ask the pastor why, if there is this "so-called" free will, did Peter HAVE to deny Jesus 3 times?
Scripture says he had NO say in his denials..........

you brood of vipers.
Wait....I thought everybody got shunned.......
Anyway, wanna keep the good pastor busy? Ask him these...
If God is omnipotent why did he require his son to be tortured in a complex ritual to atone for human sin instead of just forgiving the sin?
If God is omnipotent why does he need Jesus or the bible when he could just zap any necessary information into our heads at any time and make it perfectly clear?
Why isn't there any historical evidence for Jesus?
How did Noah get the different species to the different places on earth, and how did he keep the fresh water fish from dying when the salt water inundated inland waterways?
Why isn't there any historical evidence from the Egyptians of the captivity of the Jews or their exodus?
Why send Jesus in 30 AD instead of 4000 BC right after the fall from the garden instead of having all of human population until that time spend thousands of years in Hell?
Why won't God heal amputees?
Why hasn't any supernatural event ever been scientifically documented?
If God is omniscient than why is Caan able to hide from him, why does he change his mind and flood the world instead of doing it right the first time, why does he allow Satan to tempt people?
If God is omnipotent how is it that he can be beaten by iron chariots?
If the Messiah was to be from the house of David, then how can Jesus be the Messiah? Joseph came from the House of David, not Mary. And we know Mary never got a dickin' from Joseph.
