There are several other Thanksgiving-type threads here from the past. Curiously many of them have been locked. With good reason.
Seems some of our play-mates here are unable to control themselves.
They have this uncontrollable desire to silence voices that praise our Father in Heaven.
In order to do this, the targeted threads have been targeted and victimized by childish nonsense.

The Moderators have locked the threads as a means of controlling the abuse. (Is this not correct??)

So a new thead for testimony from any who have benefitted from His personal touch. If He has done any mighty works in your life, please share it with us.

I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in finding encouragement in the good news stories of other people.

I know I'm giving the background for this testimony for the 2nd or 3rd time. But...

While I'm not too comfortable writing about myself, a few of the more-inconsiderate people among us have caused the Moderators to lock the other threads of this type.

This fact makes a partial re-telling necessary.

In 1983 I had a car accident. Through the accident I was crippled. In 1986 I moved to my present location. That was when my present journey with God began. He promised to heal me entirely. But it was to be a Conditional Blessing.

Premarital sex was never again to be mine. This was His condition.

The healing was slow, yet almost daily for the first few years healing was observed by many others, including myself.

Very minute improvements. The rehabilitation seemed to slow down even more as the years went by. However slowly. But still being able to run again eluded me.

He has blessed me in many other joy-filled ways--most of the days since then. While this waiting for God to fufill His promise to me has been unsatisfied, certainly I've learned to have great patience.

Over the course of time, much investigation into His Word has been done and I've learned alot. (Through daily reading of the Bible and many other Christ-based writings including daily devotionals.)

Skipping ahead to present day.

In the past month, a walk through the neighbourhood took 40 minutes to complete.
A few days later, 5 minutes was shaved off of that time.
A few days after that, another 5 minutes disappeared.
His Hand is evident in my life again. And I am so entirely grateful!!

We serve a Living God. A God who honours faithfulness to Him. A patient God who waits for us to return to Him. He has so much love for you.

More love than any of us can imagine.

More love than any of us deserve.

Its certainly nice to know of the blessings youve received SOC.It was your generosity towards other people, children in particular, that brought you those fine blessings.
I know some on here have made a mockery of your head injury just the same as theyve done to me for mine.
We can do no more then pray for those that mock that should they ever suffer the same injuries they too will somehow be blessed with the healing you and I have.

Just a question:

Is this thread a forum only for Christians, or can people of different faiths come in and post about the blessings they've received?

The Creator, in whatever form It takes (hence, I'm a deist and universalist), granted us a reality in which conditions allowed humans to join the chain of evolution. We are not the end-point, but rather just one of the stages. We were granted a half-rational brain, which we should see fit to use.

The miracles are all around us. We worship the Creator in attempting to see the beauty of creation. To deny ourselves of the science and the rationality we need to grasp the complexities of Its reality is to turn our back on the Architect.

Actually, I created this thread as an avenue of voicing one's gratitude to God in a public way. Absolutely anyone is welcome to post the gratitude they feel towards God.

Did you miss the brief exchange SNG + I had?

What kind of shit is this?

Christian only threads are not allowed.

I am thankful to MYSELF for getting what I have and for growing into what I've become.

All praise to ME!!!!

I'm a little disappointed in you goose. You were showing signs there that you were growing up a little. We even exchanged extremely civil messges. (Bordering on friendly. )

But it's easy to slide back into the bad habits of our youth isn't it?

(Just because a person believes in a god, they certainly aren't necessarily defined as a Christian.)

SOC, I specifically stated "Creator" and "Architect" (two deist terms) because of the Christian conceit of assuming any unnamed "God" is THEIR God.

I still thank God every day for fulfilling my request to watch over my children when I left Michigan.
Thank you God.

Because you said "God."

Not "Gods and goddesses and teachers." There are several religions extant today that include multiple gods, goddesses, and teachers.

Even while attempting to be inclusive, you were excluding billions of people.

Exactly my point......

Friendly converstion and debate forums sharing views and information are a far cry from the exclusion of those who do not follow the Christian path.

Can I thank Thor for thunder?

How about Ra for sunshine?

Dionysus for wine?

The list goes on.

All this thread is is preaching the praise of the christian god.....

I'm thankful for being very successful in my job. Becuse I took the time to hone my talents in my field.

I'm thankful for my children because I put my penis in my then wife's vagina, moved it around a bit and made a couple of babies.

God had nothing to do with it.

You are a crude + despicable character. IMHO

Should someone apologize for you? Or do you think you're man-enough to do that yourself?
