Sharing isnt spelled selfish... Not all sharing is welcome. I bet if I went out and contracted an STD, my wife wouldn't be too keen on me "sharing" it with her.

Not all sharing is welcome. Nope...not when whats shared comes from a person who admits to his own loss of sanity..
I lost enough sanity in 2008 to be facing 2009 with much of a new personality

It's called The Great Commission and Jesus said to go into all the world and preach the gospel (Whatever that is) to all people. They don't care if you come, they just do it because Jesus told them to. It was the part of Christianity I hated the most. Handing out tracts, knocking on doors and telling others about Jesus. I never liked it but did it because it's The Great Commission and you have to do it if you want Jesus to love you. What a sick and warped way of thinking. I think you must be attempting to be glib here, Deborah, because this isn't the way I see it at all. Personally, Christians can share the good news, but we're not to cast pearls before swine, so to speak, and thus we're not to be shoving our message unwanted down anyone's throats based upon how I'm interpreting the scriptures.
Handing out tracs and knocking on doors seems a little over the top to me. I talk with others about religion and Jesus Christ if something brings the spiritual up in our conversation, or they seem to want to talk about religion.
Out in daily life, my personal Christian beliefs aren't something I feel at all pressured to preach to others, and I definitely don't feel that I must tell others "if I want Jesus to love me." The way you attempt to simplify what you are evidently determined to apply to all Christians seems a little unfair and inaccurate; it's an interesting sterotypical gesture though, when one desires to slur and reject what isn't really internally understood, in my opinion.

Handing out tracs and knocking on doors seems a little over the top to me. I talk with others about religion and Jesus Christ if something brings the spiritual up in our conversation, or they seem to want to talk about religion. Well, Jesus and the disciples didn't wait for the sheep to come to them, did they? Knocking on doors is something the Mormons and Jehovah Witnesses do on a daily basis and they aren't afraid of being called names or having the door slammed in their faces. I've had Baptists, Lutherans leave tracts and flyers on my door for a special church service or Vacation Bible School.
Jesus said in Mt.4:19 Follow me and I will make you fishers of men.
Now, fish don't find men, men find fish. Men hook lures, go out to lakes, streams and oceans and throw out a line to catch a fish. Handing out tracts, going door to door, telephoning people may not be necessary to evangleize, but Christians are supposed to tell others about Christ. Just because you don't feel guilty about not doing it, doesn't get you off the hook from doing it, at least as far as Jesus is concerned. This is just another case of not taking Jesus words literally. Also, who was Jesus talking to when he gave most of his commands in the gospels?

Look at how sad those children look, Iam.
I say this in embarrssement but I used to force my 2 year old son to sit quiet in church while the preacher was preaching. I would take him to the bathroom for an "attitude adjustment" (Spanking, in other words) when he wouldn't sit still. I wish I had just left and never come back again. Live and learn as they say.

Deb I'm sure not all churches use such extreme brainwashing like Jesus Camp but they do learn still learn about heaven and hell and Satan just about the time they stop believing in the tooth fairy.

There's no end to the gimmick and crap people will sell to make money off the Bible....toys, games, pajamas, books, Jesus night lights, pictures, movies, bumper stickers, dolls, stickers and on and on. I wonder how much money has been made in the name of Jesus that he never saw.. All of it I suppose, although when they pass the plate on Sunday they say this money is going to the Lords work. George Carlin has it right when he said God always seems to need more and more of your money. No matter how much you give, it's never enough. Why is God broke all the time?

That's the f***ing English flag they dressed their offspring up in... St George the bloody dragon slayer... that's enemies foreign and domestic to you guys... you threw it out, remember?
Hey guys we'd love to help you out but we're retired as global pirates, slave traders and colonisers of unbelieving territories... Oh yes, we're done crusading... See where it leads now?
Get yer own bloody flag to piss around the planet with... and do it yerselves, not by sending yer children... What a spiritual cartload of Grief to dream up, what is it, the bloody Hitler Youth again, Knights of the KKK or just plain ole' fashioned brain drain? Burn a cross outside, that should keep desirables away...
And yea though I wander through the valley of the shadow of death in the dark I will fear no evil because I look like such a prat that no one would come down the same street I live in...

not too sure about the authenticity of the pjs, but the children's 'armor of god' theme seems to be real.
http://www.christianbook.com/full-armor-god-playset/9834504039/pd/39026?item_code=WW&netp_id=135430&event=EBRN&view=covers
(yes, sometimes i check )
ps, this wasn't any negative comment toward you, angel. i was just as suprised as anybody when i saw the products listed on what i think is a legitimate site. the website 'armorofgodpjs.com' seems to be either a fake or no longer online)
