Do you think there is any meaning to life?
If so, what do you think it is?

I think it's what you decide you want it to be...to want it to mean...and what you do to make it happen. And as long as you seriously try to do it without harming innocent bystanders along the way, you can look back as you approach the end and know it was a pretty decent run...

I think we have a spiritual purpose on earth, and that is to grow into a better person. We all know what we need to do personally in order to grow... but we fight it. Fear. Fear of what? The unknown. Have you ever feared something so much but were forced to take that step, only to discover it wasnt half as bad as we imagined it would be? Well every other step is like that
1. Its learning to stop identifying with the ego. Your ego is not you. It is your nemesis. 2. Its learning to not take things personally. Its an understanding that if someone lashes out at you they are simply mirroring their own demons. 3. Its learning to pass knowledge on without attaching a price. 4. Its learning how to encourage and inspire others and to not get discouraged when they dont follow advice. 5. Its learning to listen instead of talking, thats why we have two ears and only one mouth.
Its much much more than those few points. Eckhart Tolle deals with this in "A New Earth - Awakening to your Life's Purpose" either in book form or audio CD's where he reads the book to you. A well educated man who started by rejecting the established education system.

The purpose of life is to survive but its meaning is what we make of it with our minds. All life survives by combination of storing fat or nuts if you're a squirrel, antiviruses, natural selection, adaption, processing nutrition and reproducing. No life will exist without life sustaining activities.

I was not trying to sell you anything are you trying to sell me something?
The first order to mind is survival of the mind and body, that is what are brain foremost function is beyond all others matter mentally, emotionally of physically.
If I say you have a great body would you hold it against me? That is of the mind also it is called procreation the 2nd order our brain has as a primary responsibility for.

Meaning can only be found from within. No one can tell you what it is. All they can do is tell you what they think it is for them. When they start telling you what it is for you, its very likely their title is Pastor, Reverend, Minister, priest, preacher or your parents. LOL!

I'm reminded of a line from the movie "The Last Samurai".
They were talking about bushido and said it was..."living life in every breath".
To not try to do this would be to me to "miss the mark" of the Greek meaning.
With the large category of "sins" we can see how our religions and philosophies have attempted us to not live fully. The golden rule would provide sound and sane thinking if it didn't have to counteract so much that is insane and illogical.
We are told by both the clergy and guru how to achieve a place of bliss. In some we can return to the void after we have half lived our lives, the others just furnish the void and rename it heaven after we have freely given away the joy that can be found "living life in every breath".
For me what I will not dare to live fully on earth will not be available in any heavens created to have a place for my ego to hang out after the universe has disappeared in front of my eyes.
For me I will continue to create within my antecendent and precedent immortality, the place I never ever have left...only temporarily forgotten on first arriving here.
On this pass I have learned to take full responsibility for my own creations...I even created others so I could make them bring me troubles...along with how to take responsibility for the well-being of others.

I agree that we have to learn to be creative in order to survive in the physical world, but I believe there is much more to it than that.
Here are some of the reasons I think we are here:
I believe we have to learn to be self reliant.
I believe we have to learn to be compassionate towards others.
I believe we have to learn when to help others and when to back away so they can learn to help themselves.
I believe we have to learn respect for ourselves and others
I believe we have to learn to respect the lives of all human beings.
I believe we have to learn to never enroach on another person or their property.
But most of all I believe we have to learn what love is and how to give and receive it.

The entire purpose of life is spreading seed and bearing fruit.
One may perhaps though, find more meaning in a good mushroom.

I remember in my early teens I asked an older guy who I thought was wiser than me because he was 18 what the meaning of life was. He said, "The meaning of life is to sit on your ass asking yourself what the meaning of life is". How profound.
