When you go through the rock bins or the crystal displays......looking for the "crystal for you".......hold it and see if it or you change...does it resonate with you....does it talk to you......does it speak to your heart and get you all warm and fuzzy..... and say, it must go home with you......then that is the stone for you....otherwise......let it be and move on. Kinda like a guy......

Indeed FineArtist, but we can always keep our minds open, listen and learn...keep going towards the right direction.
Empath as for the rocks, I get mine at this huge store in NYC where they sell a variety of rocks and crystals, incense, oils, herbs etc etc...all kinds of things catering to different taste. There must be something similar near you. Even ebay has them and as mailorderannie said some gift shops. I even had a woman once from England send me some in a small bag from her nearby beach, that was very cool.

Ah......Rockhounding is on the Agenda!!! I know of some cool places around here to find quartz, garnet, agates, jade, and some obsidian and of course we cannot forget the world famous Ellensberg Blues too. And you thought Washington State was just all about rain and MicroSoft!

I'd mentioned in an earlier post a good site that will tell you about the different rocks/crystals. It's www.rainbowcrystal.com. It's a very good site and I think you will find it very helpful.
All of the ideas posted here for finding rocks are good....rock shops, rock bins, eBay, etc. I prefer eBay myself.
I have some extra gemstones, and would be more than happy to send some your way. If you are interested, email your address to me and I'll get them mailed to you. Between mailorderannie and myself and possibly others, you'll have a good start to a rock/crystal collection.

Yep, rainbowcrystal.com is a great site for getting crystals and for learning about them.
And watch out for crystals that have been color enhanced, i.e, dyed. You want them to be natural, generally.
Crystals should be cleared occasionally to return them to their natural vibration as they can collect other vibrations. There are a few that never need clearing and some that you shouldn't clear with water. I usually put mine in spring water with a bit of sea salt overnight for clearing. Then rinse and air dry. There are other ways to clear them. Smudging is another way. I don't know how to do that. Maybe someone else does?

Leave the crystals out in the moonlight for 3 nights one is the night before the full moon the night of the full moon and the night after.......also I can clear one and charge it with my Reiki.
Red that was cold what you said about letting men move on.....tacky...  so cold.
Smudging is usually done with sage and I don't know if that totally clears them or not.

I agree also, SusieQ and Red.....let the people who do not speak to the music in you be....they are meant for someone others. It is not cold (Beach, I know you were teasing Red), it is simply the right way to do it. Taking what you want from someone, when you know they are not right for you, is selfish and possibly destructive to others as well as yourself.
I have always held true to these words: "To thine own self be true." If I cannot live with who I am and what I have done, who the heck else will be able to?
Beach? Did you say you were a Reiki Master? Can you attune novices?
I would gladly accept all stones you guys wish to send my way! I must ask though, how can you not want them or make use of them yourselves? Is it possible to have too many?

I don't think it's possible to have too many. But from what I understand, a person doesn't need 25 pieces of rose quartz  when one will do.
I'll send you SOME of what I have...meaning I have enough for myself and enough to share....but I can't share without a place to send them to silly.  
I'm so glad you've started this thread Empath! I too believe there's a reason for everything (no such thing as coincidence). Will try to elaborate more at a later time...was up until 3 last night doing work.
Hmmm.... I wonder if there's a gemstone that works like caffeine.  lol!

I had never heard of this stone, so I did a quick search about it. Here's what I found.

And it is a very pretty stone too, with sparkly flecks in it (kind of like mica) and various shades of purple. It is one of my favourite purple rocks, that and charolite.

I understand that the Russian Czars had restricted the export of charolite and until recently, the stone did not leave Russia much. We have a large Russian population here now in the Pacific Northwest and they have brought their lovely stone to us and introduced it to our area........it's really pretty and makes wonderful pendents.

I thought I'd send a quick post. If any part of it is unintelligible, I have caught a nasty cold (1st in 2 years!) and my thoughts aren't as easily expressed. 
A little over 2 weeks ago, I asked (and received....thank you!) that positive energy be sent my way. I received my grade from my Anthropology midterm and got an 85%. I am certain without your help, I would have not done as well. So a big THANK YOU to everyone who sent the energy I needed.
Meadowlark, the feng shui book arrived and I am more than halfway finished. My home would be considered "feng shui hell" (lol) but now I know where to start. Depending on the room and what needs to be done, I figure 1 day to 1 week to have each room feng shuied. 
On the subject of rocks/crystals/minerals, yesterday I picked up a small piece of polished lepidolite and one of charolite. I've been using wire to make wire-wrapped pendants, so I can wear the pendant that will be most helpful for that particular day. I still need to charge them, and may change my method. Beachnut's suggestion (3-day full moon) seems like a good one. I'd like to design the pendants so I can wear more than one at a time without having 5 lbs. of rocks hanging from my neck.
I also purchased my first crystal cluster (amethyst) and it is gorgeous!

This is awesome!! I'm so glad that I finally found this. I have been interested in the metaphysical world for about 6 years. Massage therapy was my first start to the healing world. From there I took Reiki I and Reiki II. I like to read about theology and found pretty much the same message in all religions. Basically it's about love and light. Quantum physics is very interesting and my daughter is reading about quantum touch. Can't wait to learn more about that. I'm currently studying the channeled works of Barbara Marciniak and her teachings from the Pleiadians. There's a lot that I've dabbled in and read, but not an expert in any one area. I wish that I could download the information to my brain like a computer because there is so much I want to learn.
Anyway, Empath, thank you for starting this thread. I look forward to reading more, I'm about half way done.

I was wondering if anyone would be willing to talk about the process of a tarot reading. Someone did a tarot reading for me a few weeks ago, and even though they didn’t know much about me at that time, they were very accurate in what they discovered. I am interested in how it is done, and the preparations that go into doing a reading.
