Thanks all for the energy sent my way. Just reading all of your support gave me a warm feeling. I especially liked reading about the canine participation, as part of my grief is tied to the passing of my first on-my-own pet dog Isadora, just 2 days after my mother's death. I DO believe I am feeling something of a shift, but still have a way to go to move from subsistence to thriving.
If any of you are interested, I would be willing to post some diagrams offsite showing some of the NLP models.
Feng shui question: In a 2-story home, is the romance area on both levels?
Pete or anyone else: Do you have any knowledge/experience with scalar waves?

I am so very sorry to hear of your losses. I'm assuming they were fairly recent. I wish there was a way I could wave a magic wand and take the pain caused by grief away from others, but unfortunately I cannot. I will continue to send positive energy your way.
I just finished reading an excellent book about Feng Shui. It's late, so my mind is too tired to allow me to recall it, but it was suggested by another member in an earlier post.
What I can remember is yes, the romance area is on all levels of a house, but the primary level is the first floor. So my guess would be focus on the far right corner of your home as where to put the most emphasis as far as the romance area. If you wish, further enhance your chances of romance by doing the same for the far right corner on your second floor.
I think I got that right. If not, anyone's more than welcome to jump in here and set this straight.
I'd be interesting in seeing the diagrams of the NLP models you've mentioned.
After my mom passed, a dear friend told me something that really helped, especially since we, as women, tend to want to take care of everyone around us but us.
"Take care of yourself first. Help and support others as your strength allows." I've printed that out and have had it taped to my computer monitor for the past 3+ years.

Hey All!
Lacy, think you're cool since you share my birthdate! Yeah!!!
I agree the romance area is the far right on all levels. It can also be
the far right in any room as well to boost those levels.
After posting my information on Feng Shui a few weeks ago....
I realized how lax I was in my new place since I moved in here 3 years
ago...So went about "Fixing" my romance area complete with matching
planting (for good growth energy) two matching Victorian Handsl. One holding
a large carved rose quartz heart the other a Jasper carved heart (that close friend's gave me, and that energy helps too to give it momentum...). A ceramic heart on the wall, a bit of red....and "BINGO" Finally "Clicked" with someone who
"Found Me" on this website...I actually stopped on this site...
So as I lead by example, I have to say happily, there's got to me "Something" to
Feng Shui...So if you're curious, give it a try....
P.S. Evening your "Desk" at work can be arranged with Feng Shui in mind...
Lacy so sorry to hear of your dog's passing...I know how pet's can transcend
themselves and become a soulmate in spirit to the one they bond with.
She will still be "Around you"...

Just had to post one more thing....
Lacy, read your comments on NLP. It sounds very
similar to the new trend of thinking with "Setting Positive Intentions".
I've read much on how "Energy follows thought". And the idea that
at a "Sub-atomic level every person, thought, sound, "Everything" consists
of pulsating ions of light that is in constant state of change.
We are really at a new point where humans and our conciousness, has become
conscous of "Itself"...That what we think, ultimately becomes our reality...
Thoughts, emotions, colors, disease, beauty and our spirituality ...all
exist as pure...energy....
Therefore, setting positive intentions (thinking patterns) is key in
directing change especially when hit with the many curveballs we have too handle in life...,However, directing positive thought patterns must be done using
very specific verbage. Positive energy will then attract and be pulled towards you like a magnet...creating a path for it to follow and "find you".....
This all can be done, again, as a conscious knowing (thought).
So clearly setting the goal (Intention) and effectively eliminating all
negative undercurrents of fear and loss (extremely important and can
at times be hard to do!) while asking and setting the
intention for your future reality is v e r y important!.....
I wanted to make this added post for you as I know you've had a
loss of your mother and beloved pet....Remember we never really
lose "Anyone". merely make a transition...
I remember when my sister died from cancer five years ago...It was very difficult
as I held a vigil at her bedside.
When the moment came....I had to make the decision for her two sons (then 6 and 13) to kiss their mother goodbye for the last time.
Here the remarkable part...when my brother-in-law and I went to her 6 year old
son....and told him of his mother's passing...He looked up at us and said,
"Yes! I already know, she was at my bedside and said....You will always be in my heart then disappeared".....Later he went asking to his father, "Where's my
Horseshoe, mom said I can have it now." Well no one knew what he was talking about....A few months later, going through an old jewelry box, we found Two
Cartier Jewelry Money Clips....In the shape of "Horseshoes". It was long placed
away years ago for the intention of giving them to her sons when they got old enough. Karen used to work as a manager for "Cartiers Jewelers on Fifth Avenue in NYC and purchased them years before. Only then did my brother in law
remember the thought and how she tucked it away..before they were even born...
So, yes we will have these experiences...and Lacy as you go on in you're
life be mindful of the little "Signs" that you will get...
Just like "SweetGall" and the thoughtful little coins she is still getting from her
grandfather....Good for you SweetGal for noticing and knowing!
Anyway, as a loss can spiral the best of us into a mourning and depression
I hope Lacy (and anyone else here interested) you will try to get this book and read it on the practice of setting positive intentions....

Ha! I had to laugh Beachnut and should have figured you were a
Scorpio too!.....smile....
On a positive note, tonight is her son's high school "Prom" and we're all thinking of her now. How proud she would be to see him at this point...June 9th, he asked me to sit in his mother's place for her and watch him graduate from H.S. And I will be mentoring him to become an Art teacher.throughthis college years now...Situations however hard in life, will always pass. And once you reach an uphill climb is only inevitable to see, once again, a beautiful sunrise...With some positive happening coming around to find you!
This is a busy month for me in teaching, but will try to pop in and out
as much as I can....

First of all, Meadowlark, it's good to hear from you and congratulations on your new found love! 
Yesterday, I spent the afternoon going to metaphysical shops with a friend. One place was doing free Reiki attunements, so of couse I jumped at the opportunity. I feel so wonderful afterwards and know the light I feel radiates outward to others.
Anyways, during the session, the Reiki master gently touched my face, just off to the side of my nose...not on the nose, but my face. I thought maybe it was accidental, my my friend said he had the same thing happen during his session.
My question is, why was this done? What was the purpose?
Any feedback will be appreciated.

I've taken courses in Shiatsu Massage in NYC...
I mostly give head/shoulders Shiatsu massages
to friends and others who ask...
It amuses me everytime how everyone
I massage, walks away looking like
human jello! Ha! Ha!..... Smile...
I would like to have Reikki done on myself...
Can anyone comment on how it feels?
Is it better, than a massage? Even my own Shiatsu Massages!!! Smile....

I'm thinking it was a Reiki session. An attunement is more involved and is a step through the levels of practioner toward Master.

I have a question Empath...
I'm trying to catch up with all the posts here..
And I read that you had an experience in Mirror Scrying
(mentioned happened by accident when blow drying your hair)....
I saw an episode on the Most Haunted series...and they've tried
this technique...suppposedly is an old English trick...wondered
what type of face you saw in the mirror...perhaps a spirit
lurking about? Darn, there's a full length mirror across from my
bed...hmmm now I want to place a silk scarf over it!
And now that I'm thinking about it, in Feng Shui you are
supposed to do just that....
The "Think TanK' reminds me of a story another teaching friend
that I work with told me. He's a geography teacher and travels
extensively on his "off time". Two years ago he went to
Peru and visited a local tribal village....Well he said they
have this thing where they sit inside a "Sweat Hut" drink
some type of native herb infused tea....and have out of body
experiences...He said he was "seeing the buildings and
structures of an ancient civilization..and his other friend
ran out of the hut and vomitted...Anyway thought I
throw it out there...I've heard Native Americans share the
same practices too....
Since you're now learning Reiki, I was wondering if you had the
same concern...What about working on negative people?
Is your Reiki Master showing techniques right off the bat on
grounding and protection against "Negative psychic attacks?"
Or lingering negative energy that may be absorbed by a client?
This is the one thing that made we always hesitate with
Reiki...In fact I'm selective who I even provide Shiatsu Massage to.

Sweet Gal I don't know what the person did.....but an attunement goes a different way. If you sat in a chair....hands in prayer pose in front of you, feet on the floor, all kinds of ways to do it but one thing for sure....the "master" would make the sign in each hand and blow on the hand the master would make the sign at the back of your head......its a whole recipe haven't heard of the face touch.....I will research it and see. Not saying that you aren't attuned but interested in what the instructions are/were for you to use your power.
The first attunement to Reiki One is the power sign, CHO KU REI.....(show koo ray). You would have been instructed as to how to turn your "power" on and it is suggested you do that daily for 21 days. During the 21 days as your body gets used to the attunement you "may" feel a little nausea or diarhhea (loose stool).....can't believe I just typed that.....
If none of these things happened maybe you weren't attuned. Maybe you were. I can't say I swear I wasn't there....did it cost you financially? You can write me a private e mail if you like. The signs are in Diane Steins "Essential Reiki". You still must get someone to attune you to the signs. There are all kinds of signs in that book so only some are used in Reiki. Different masters have different beliefs and procedures. I always look for a local Unity Church usually they have a Reiki Circle of Healing.
Meadow Shiatsu is "killer massage" not for the folks that want a little squeeze and almond oil!!! Its deep tissue at its best. Some Shiatsu experts of course use forearms and elbows and feet to get to the stubborn places. My previous wife in GA was a LMT and she had hands that could rake corn off a cob.....tough strong hands, I dreaded getting a massage from her but loved it afterwards...you are right you leave people collapsed in a clump.

NO, not scrying....that would imply I was TRYING to see something!! No way! That idea makes me nervous.......LOL.........
The face looking back at me when I straightened up and glanced in the mirror, was as solid as my own would have been, similar to myself, yet different in hair colour, hairstyle, and eye colour. Her expression was studious, and I got the distinct impression of a connection, an 'awareness', if you will, and I remember being afraid to look in mirrors for days following, not of the image, but the 'idea' of someone else looking out of the mirror at me.........I also had the impression it could have been my own child, but at that time I had not wanted children....now I have two daughters who both resemble that face in the mirror!!
I'm still not sure it wasn't just a moment of fanciful imagination, but I do still remember the incident vividly, and it still raises my blood pressure somewhat. 
The question I have for anyone who can answer....if opening my mind to Spirit and Universal Love brings me peace, why would I be afraid of the 'power' of the energy at my disposal? Poor choice of words, I realize, but none other is coming to me at the moment. I have been aware for a long time that I have 'healing hands', but I have been afraid to truly open myself to the ability out of fear.....fear I am crazy? fear I will abuse the power, and think of myself as more important than I am? fear I do not have the ability, and I am deluded? LOL Am I the only one that has these thoughts?

You voiced the same fears I have had at times -- so I went to your profile and read your blog -- and found a bit of the above quote -- and had to find its source -- also quoted by Nelsen Mendela in his inauguration speech.
I like the last part of the quote -- I think this thread it testimony to it.
(NLP says that "why" questions are not good questions -- confuses the brain -- which seeks an answer to affirm the premise -- ie -- rationalizes and perpetuates the fear -- Ask instead "What frightens me? That you ARE crazy? (Hard to change an "I AM") Is there other evidence to support that? That you WILL abuse? A DO -- easier to change -- comes from who you ARE -- are you one to abuse power? That you will not GET results? Only by doing will you find out whether the gift is yours or not. Just thought it was a way of throwing in a little NLP -- and learning to deal with the fear in maybe a new way.)

Ha! Ha! Beachnut....I have "strong piano player hands" and can get down to
the nitty gritty pressure points on the spine and other key pressure spots.
I'm wondering though which is more beneficial...Reiki or Shiatsu...
I want to now look into a Unity Church...since you guys Pete and Beachnut
have mentioned it here in New Haven....
Has anyone heard of the new Healing Church Silvia Brown started
quite a few years back....She promotes it in her books, it is listed in the
back....Let me know if anyone looked into it....

I can't say which is more benificial Reiki or Shiatsu. Kinda like which one is more beneficial, a hot bath for stiffness or aspirin......or some other wild analogy....they both have their place. Reiki in addition to Shiatsu ***** 5 star. One compliments the other.
Massage is great. All healing modalities are great. I love the skin on skin healing. Therapeutic touch, Rolfing, they all are good. I have done some massage on people that have LOW pain thresholds and I may have just been applying lotion. But they seemed to like it. The former wife used to get after the knots in the scapula and shoulder areas with a crytal to get really down there deep. Then she learned NMT or Nueromuscular Massage Techniques. It waas amazing to see her work. If you can every isolate a clogged or blocked area and feel it disappear under your thumb and get a good relaease its a great feeling so I don't know how one is better than the other.......its all good.

Actually, I am not yet being taught. My daughter just introduced us the week before last, and I haven't made it over to her house yet....we more or less discovered that our areas of interest were as similar as our belief systems, so she invited me over to discuss things....I might have to wait to learn Reiki until after my trip in June....  nothing is coming before that!!!  LOL
However, since I have a history of absorbing the negative energies surrounding me, and becoming very depleted, I would definitely seek to protect myself now that I know it is possible. Like I give my worries of each day 'over', I would assume that can also be done with negative energy or intent (for you, Pete  ). I am very strongly intuitive and empathic, so it would be a MUST for me to protect myself. From what I understand of Reiki, though, the Universal energy heals the giver as well, so it would follow (to me) that negative energy would be disbursed. I will be checking that out very shortly. Beachnut would be a better one to respond to this....

Basic Reiki can be shown to you in 20 minutes. Investigate it today rather than after the trip.......just saying everyday you can do healing is better than the day you don't do healing. You can start by healing yourself. The best one to start on. If you get the book Essential Reiki by Diane Stein that I keep ranting about, she tells you eexercises that you can do for self healing. Go to your library or check Amazon for a used one. She writes in feminine gender Goddess and the like and is a great read. Has pictures of exercises including opening the Kundalini......never can tell when that might need to be opened..... I have to lighten the thread sometimes. I have to remember this is Web of Light not all somber and studious. My healing is in laughter a lot.
I have a saying that I copped from the Big Book, Alcoholics Anonymous,
"There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance - that principle is contempt prior to investigation." I try to liive by that as much as possible. Don't put off investigating Reiki it ain''t rocket science. Its Basic common sense.

Well, I went out and found some (what appear to be) really good Reiki books (sorted through about 80 books to get there.....and covered all bases and asked source to point me in the right direction).
I have started reading, so I can see which direction I shall go and how to proceed on finding my way and the right Reiki Master for me!
Both books seemed like they were easy to read, answered the questions that I was seeking, good illustration and examples/exercises. Self-Healing Reiki Freeing the Symbols, Attunements, and Techniques by Barbara Emerson and Reiki Hands that Heal by Joyce J. Morris.
Some other learning options for the rest of you!
