I checked out the website on Ascension. There is a part of me -- that insatiable curiosity -- that wants to try it all. There is another part of me that says it is just a new packaging of an old product. The elements of praise and thanksgiving in all things is at least as old as the Bible. I think perhaps the books might be worth purchasing, but a friend would have to do a powerful selling job to get me to spend money on the seminar. It also appears that seminars have to be sponsored. Do you know someone who is sponsoring? What did your friend have to say about it and has she gone for further ascensions?

Meadowlark -

I just received the sound healing CDs today. I'll share with the group more about them after I've had the chance to listen.

And have a great time in "Idaho"....Am I -Dah -Hoe, or are you Dah-Hoe? Ha! Ha! Ha!
Just couldn't resist....

***groan*** That's an old one and we hear that quite a bit here . Actually, I live in Idaho (southwestern). "My guy" lives here as well, but is 1 1/2 hrs. away (south central). So yes, I had a GREAT, WONDERFUL, FABULOUS time!

(My pastor refers to this state as White-a-ho. )

I'm really looking forward to listening to those CDs.

Actually, the sponsoring is different......you can become a sponsor for the Ishayas courses and provide them with administrative and lodging help if you do not have the desire or the time to devote to becoming a teacher.

a friend would have to do a powerful selling job to get me to spend money on the seminar.

That seventeen day intensive sounds like a heavenly retreat, to me......getting away from the hustle and bustle of the big city (I live in Toronto), no noise -including t.v. and children- and meditating.......oh....if I only had the money....

As for the idea of Ascension......I'd have to agree with Lacy......it has the same basis as yoga and many of the topics we have discussed here on this thread....based on Unconditional Love.......with one difference.....a male/female deity ...where the feminine and masculine are in equal measure, if I understood correctly....

I have been touting a similar theory myself for a couple of years now....that one of the most fundamental problems in today's society is that the nurturer is absent in many of todays families. Devoted to helping support the family financially, the mother is no longer capable of giving her family as much of herself as is needed......unless she seriously depletes her energies in trying....I am sure feminists all over the world will jump on my head for even suggesting this.......but just look at how society has deteriorated....character in general, since the woman started working outside of the home for whichever reason applies......necessity, desire, boredom.....

I am rambling, but this is something I am quite vehement on.......so the general idea of Ascension sits well with me, Beachnut.......we need to make the feminine and the masculine equal parts of our inner selves....and our lives......in all things.....blah blah blah.....LOL

It could be an expensive process but they all are in the beginning. The practitioner I spoke with today does a weekend Friday Saturday and Sunday for around 300 bucks. Its pretty intensive. That is for the first sphere.

I can't believe Empath ran out of gas as far as literally ran out of words into the blah blah blah zone........whew. That was worth the wait.
Peace to all.

Yes, Red, I agree.....it is the same as Yin/Yang, and it should be in all things if not already.......

Beachnut.........pththththht ......lol...... (I sincerely hope you have animations on for them!!) lol
Oh, and three hundred dollars would be worth every penny....a three night stay in a hotel would cost just as much when you include food .....and we'd leave feeling so rejuvenated.....

An acquaintance of mine discovered some of my ability yesterday, and swears I should be a fortune teller, NOT....he wants to take me to a meeting of the Six Nations........I thought that to be a great honour, and said I would love it, but might not want to leave........*smile.......I like the native way of thinking, from what I know of it...

300 would be worth it. One on one instruction with lets say 5 real good friends. That is kinda a minimum group. There is a center at.........Sedona of course.

Actually $300 for a weekend in Sedona with like-minded people does sound like a worthwhile expenditure. When might this happen?

They have a 7 day retreat in ONtario for our Canadian friends.....Ishaya.org.

Here is a concern of mine and I don't know why its a concern but it is. It seems their teachers adopt the name Ishaya......with a really groovy first name like my contact in South Carolina....Kalyani Devi Ishaya. All the articles written on the site were of Ishaya surname.........things that make you go hmmmm. NO KOOL AID......drank here. I will check it out more and Ishaya.org seems to be the best place to get the most info.

Go for it.

haha That could be it SS. You know we have been taught that a "cult" brainwashes you.....and hey the 12 step program does too.....THANK GOD..my brain needed some washing. I don't know what the resistance is to the association with a sect. I really don't know why that brings up thoughts of conspiracy to me. But anyway.....any thoughts?

I think it may need to go through the cycle again, Beachnut, it is still dirty!! Oh...that's right, you are Scorp....no help for your dirty mind......

I wonder if the resistance might be to the idea that so many cults and religions believe that they are 'it' and if you don't conform, you will arrive in hell....etc..
It doesn't rest easy with me either knowing that they adopt Ishaya as a name....I assumed that it was voluntary. If not, I would shy away.....their philosophy is the same as my own already anyway......I kind of like my own name, and more would confuse my simple mind.......

Beach, this all sounds great, but dig deeper. Sometimes we don't "see" what we want to "see".

Good point, SS. But even though we are a part of the whole, we can still exercise our free will. Right? It appears that The International Society of Ascension gradually takes away one's free will.

This makes me think of an "anti Tom Cruise" shirt I saw on line that read, "Run, Katie, Run!"

Just be very careful. (and make sure your shoelaces are tied)

Thanks sweet gal How is that new guy doing???????

You're welcome Beach! The new guy is doing really good and I had an absolutely wonderful day with him on Saturday. Better than I expecteed. I have a really good feeling about this overall, but time will indeed tell.

I do have a concern though, and I don't know if it's something that I should put my running shoes on for. I have had 3 people read his picture. All 3 have said he either has a temper or has anger problems. One of the 3 suggested that I flat out ask him (which I did during one of our first calls....I asked what makes him mad, what's his temper like). His answers weren't anything that caused me alarm. Also my pastor who did my initial reading in Feb. 2004 didn't pick up on anger/temper. I've learned/was taught that anger is usually a "mask" for deep hurt. There is a deep (past) hurt there, so I wonder if the 2 (past hurt/anger) go hand in hand. I have a good feeling about this guy, and I don't want to run away from him unless there's a reason to. But I also don't want to turn a blind eye to what may be a bad thing.....

Anyone here good at reading photos? I'd like to find out why anger/temper showed up with the photo readings I had so far.

(....ugh....ramble, ramble, ramble....)

Yeah, it appears the Ishayas are a cult. But I read somewhere that a cult can be defined as a group that does not practice the beliefs of Christianity. I picked up some red flags in the thread at that site, but do plan to take the time to read the page in its entirety just to get a better understanding.

"OK folks, let's be careful out there." (HSB)
