No, SS, I had not thought of 'playing' with it....although I have held it in my hands and felt the edges, the push and pull......no fun stuff though. Thank you for the idea....maybe on my trip I might get the chance for a few experiments....if Don will let me....... 
Thank you for your support, once again. You are correct...it can be VERY draining. But I am strong in my faith, if not my knowledge.....it has pulled me back too many times for me to ignore, and is always there when I call upon it.
Yes, my desire to learn is very strong. I do not understand why I would fear a benevolent energy though. This I need to meditate on.

Empath, If it's fear holding you back, take baby steps. Try little things. Sorta like dipping your toe in the water to see what it's like. Another thing to remember is that it's not your energy, you are the conduit so you shouldn't feel drained. If anything, your energy is boosted by the universal energy coursing through you into it's intended path. I know Reiki says that a person will feel drained after passing energy but that doesn't make sense to me and that's not the way it is with Quantum Touch. I'm jealous, by the way, of your awareness. For me, I know it's there but I barely feel it or see it. I'm attending a Quantum Touch workshop this weekend. I'll let ya'll know how it goes.
PS: For what it's worth, if Don won't let you, I vote no on Don. You need to be you in all your glory.

Just a thought - maybe the fear is not of the energy, but of what others think about it. A fear that others' misunderstanding could make you feel even more separate. A fear that can begin to subside as your community grows.

Susieq: LOL......no to Don??? Wouldn't think of it, Hon!! I was just teasing...as Sweetgal, Red, and Beach all said before.......we just might be 'too busy' for me to take time out for meditation    ...it will, afterall, be the first time we meet!! 
Just a note, also...it is not the energy from the Source that drains me, but rather the negative draining energy from the people around me in my life. When acting as a conduit, I always feel very relaxed and peaceful and very positive immediately following.
SS: the fear could definitely be of being cut off socially, thought of as a 'crazy', but I also think it is a deep-seated fear of 'misusing' the energy. Then again, as I stated once before.......what if I am just very imaginative???
I had a fellow contact me with some very interesting observations, and I am hoping he just might join this thread. However, one thing that he mentioned is that there is a dark side to all this also,it can be dangerous, so tread lightly.
I know of no dark side to this energy, does anyone else? Could this be related to the fears I harbour deep within?

No, Empath, no dark side. Can't be done. Only positive intention is passed on. Any darkness or negative intent is imparted by a misguided individual, and it stays with that person. This is not to say that negatives do not exist, and perhaps this person is only warning about absorbing negative energy as you open to the positive, which can be draining and is a legitimate concern, but something you're probably already experiencing and learning to guard against, as a sensitive.
SuzieQ - I'm not aware of anything that teaches that Reiki is draining. My RM teaches (and embodies) what my experience and reading agree, that as the energy passes through it revitalizes the practitioner. It requires relaxed focus, and I suppose someone who is either allowing her personal energy to flow out with the energy being channeled, or who is absorbing the negative energy of the pain or illness being treated could feel drained. That's why grounding and relaxation are important. I guess it's kind of like being able to hold on to live wires and let voltage run through the body (not something I've ever done or wanted to do). As long as everything is flowing properly nothing gets zapped, but when the connection isn't properly aligned, damage occurs. Just making an undereducated analogy. Not recommending playing with live wires. Let me be VERY clear about that. lol.
And again, there are as many schools of Reiki these days as there are websites to promote them, so I'd never say I've read it all.

I do not believe in either a dark side or negative energy. My own belief is that the light illuminates the darkness and the positive neutralizes the negative. Open that gate that you are so carefully guarding and continuous flow will result.
I sense the fear you are feeling is a fear of the power -- a fear it will be ever so much more than you can imagine -- and a fear that it will have a beginning and an end rather than a flow -- a fear that you will experience "success" and then maybe it won't happen again -- that you will be a one-shot wonder. I don't think any of those fears will materialize, but so what if they did? You know that one of these days you are going to open the gate. Use your gift -- get training if you feel you must -- personally I do not think it is necessary, tho it may enhance -- if your gift lasts for a day or a lifetime, you will fulfill that part of your life.

Very intuitive Lacy! Although not, I think, about the one hit wonder part. More a fear of what the 'power' or energy will require me to do. I am not the most confident of women...if you all haven't figured that out already......*smile*

Just catching up with the posts today everyone!
Lacy that was a great metaphor you had about childbirth/Reiki
I know that wisdom makes a connection for us all along with Empath too!
And SS I like the post you made about meditation on a ball of energy
between the palms of the hands...I'll have to include that one in...
Does it matter on what color the energy must be to visulize?
Beachnut glad your reading Quantum Touch too. I'm doing some
practice work on my dog...and what a "Wet noodle" she is
afterwards!!! Smile...laugh...She won't get up. I'll try to pull her
back up, and end up dragging her around my house by her front
paws...her whole body is just jello at this point...she gets tooooo relaxed!
I found some classes scheduled for this summer close by for
basic Quatum Touch. I plan to contact a friend to take the course with me.
It's not that expensive here in CT....let you all know though...
Empath...will be sending you good vibes/energy for your big "Meet"...Smile....

Not trying to be funny Lacy but George Burns said a similar thing in OH GOD the movie. He said he didn't sit at a master control board that he had given us everything that we needed to do life........I sometimes envision George Burns as my focal image for God it makes me smile
SS Susie says it right in one way but different in another maybe you will agree.......we are a conduit for the energy.......BUT I have never felt depleted after a strong Reiki session. I was in a session at a campout of like minded people one time and there were 6 of us "treating" others at the campout. Two people on each side and One at the head and One at the foot. We must have treated 6 people that night on that massage table. Of the 6 practitioners 4 of us were Reiki Masters. I was floating by nights end. Listening to Deva Premal.....whew makes me sweat now. I wasn't "worn out" I was rejuvenated. Reiki will not wear you out. It can't it comes in thru the left and leaves via the right side of your body.....NO REBOUND like massage.
Lacy you are a beauty what good input you give. You too Meadowlark I wish I could go thru the course with you or anyone else on this thread.
Susie lets have a Metaphysical Gathering. Pass on the good news to each other.
Lets do it in .....................Sedona.....haha and we could have the Vortex's there too.

I interpreted that incorrectly. I think I got that because I noticed warnings about energy depletion and how to be careful to avoid it.
I'm back from the Quantum Touch workshop. It was awesome. There's so much, I can't put it into an itty bitty forum posting. It's all in the book. In a nutshell, it's about, breathing, intention, and attention. Visualization is helpful, in general, but crucial for me. I went this weekend frustrated in knowing that I have "healing in my hands" but unable to feel sensation. It was validated to me that it's true; I am a healer. At the least, everyone felt heat from my hands. One woman said I exuded energy from my entire body. By the end of the weekend, I was feeling some sensation. This morning, the instructor began to talk us through self-healing. I put my hand on myself and before I finished my first inhale, I felt the heat turn on, like a switch had been flipped. I also felt heat in my hands this morning at breakfast as I was mentally recalling a healing incident.
I'm doing a Super-Charging workshop in October. I love this stuff!!
Beach, I can be a facilitator for a video workshop but can't be an instructor until I do three more workshops, a bunch of session hours, get a minister's license, and pay the instructor's fee. Oh, and with my new job, I don't get vacation time for another 5 1/2 months. So I won't be leaving town until then. I can facilitate for free if ya'll want to come here. Or if at least three people would like a certificate of attendance, I can do it at cost -- $60, I think.

Skylark, just read your earlier post - the energy ball is whatever color you choose. We all have different natural resonanaces, so go with what feels good (my personal advice for ALL meditation and spiritual practice!), and you can also use different colors for different purposes, if you like. For instance, if you're doing chakra work, you might want to focus on the color traditionally associated with that chakra. I just let it grow and then see what color it "feels" like.
